BFP after AF came and went?

AF showed up this month giving me an 8 day luteal phase and I was crushed. It lasted 5 days just like normal, with medium to light bleeding. My temperatures stayed elevated all through AF and were still up this morning (2 days past AF leaving) so I decided to test just to be sure.. and got a BFP! Has anyone else ever had this? I've heard of implantation bleeding and even light bleeding.. but what about full on period level of bleeding for 5 days?? I want to be super excited for my BFP after thinking I was out for this month... but I'm worried it could mean chemical or miscarriage? Has anyone had experience with this happening to them? The test result had 2 super bright pink lines within 1 minute, I couldn't believe my eyes and I'm hoping that could be a good sign!

It can happen congrats on the BFP may be check in with your Doctor so you can get an early scan and see what is happening or blood test to check hormone levels

Will do! My doctor isn't in the office until Monday so I guess I'll just have to wait patiently. I think I'll take another test tomorrow morning too just to confirm.

It does happen, hon. It happened to someone very close to me, and all is well I would definitely get your hormone levels checked to see if you need supplements.

How dark are your test lines? Just curious. Congrats! xoxoxoox

I just posted in the 2 week wait - the same has happened to me. I had spotting 6+7 DPO, bleeding in the eve 8DPO then a large clot in the morning 9DPO. I was crushed. Lots of tears later I noticed that I still have sore breasts and period cramps yet no more bleeding... and BFP 12 & 13DPO (today!) If its still BFP monday I'll go to GP. Please update with how you are getting on.

This is the second post this week of this same exact thing!! I would try and find the other Lady's post. It definitely CAN happen. Except technically it would be called "vaginal bleeding" instead of having your period. Since you can't shed your uterine lining when you're pregnant. My mom bled on time every month with one of my brothers. So it can happen! Good luck to you!!

Update! My temp was still nice and high this morning and I got my second BFP when I tested!!! Both today and yesterday they were bright pink lines that showed up within about 30 seconds of testing, and are just as dark as the control line. I couldn't believe my eyes I was so prepared for a BFN. I'm so excited for L1nda too! Maybe we can be unusual TTC / due date buddies! Will be making a doc appt first thing Monday. YAY! I was so convinced I had a luteal phase defect when 'AF' showed up 9dpo, I'm still in disbelief!

I'm up for buddies! I was thinking the same too about my crap luteal phase. I tried taking vit B suppliments and was crying about how they hadn't seemed to work as I'd bled early!!! What is your luteal phase normally?

I wasn't sure about my luteal phase, it was only my second month charting and my first was pretty wishy washy (hadn't bought a proper thermometer), it looked like it was probably 10 days, still on the short side so I was ready for short.. just not 8 days short! I actually started a B50 complex when AF arrived to help lengthen the next one, guess I might not have needed them!

Best friend's mom had her period for the first five months of her pregnancy. It can definitely happen!

update! It definitely can happen... my bleed has just been put down as implantation and I am officially now pregnant! YAY! Hope you are too!!
