Hi ladies!

My dh and I have been trying to conceive for YEARS! First 4 years we weren't really trying, but not preventing either. We thought it would happen soon. Well then for 2 years I stopped having periods and found out I had a prolactinoma tumor and I got it removed over a year ago. Thought that would help my conception issue. Got pregnant in February and sadly our little angel didn't make it. My cycle has been really off and I'm going to see a gyno tomorrow morning. My question is: Did clomid work for you? How long did it take? I hate to sound like I'm in a big rush but after 7 years and still no children, it's starting to scare me a bit. Just needing a little hope. I'm not sure what would make me a prime candidate for clomid, but can any of you ladies please enlighten me? :flower:

I also read there is an increased chance of multiples and that scares the heck out of me. I know it's a small percentage so I am trying not to worry about that. My dh is more like "hey, I'll take 2 mini-me's running around here" lol It scares me and I would rather have one the first time around, but I'm not opposed to the idea. So, please, if you will, can you share your clomid experience :)

Hi I used Clomid since April and got pregnant on 5th attempt with 150mg because of absent periods due to pcos. I'm scared to death about multiples and thought I would get early scan to check but hope. I'm 8 weeks on Saturday and don't see midwife until 9 1/2 weeks then thy will book scan then.
It's defiantly worth a go. X x x

This BFP came from my first cycle of clomid, 50mg. I have PCOS and don't ovulate regularly on my own. :flower:

Every since I had my daughter my periods have been very irregular maybe one or two a year. I got pregnant by surprise wasn't trying but didn't think I could get pregnant since I wasn't haveing periods but after 11 months of no periods I found out I was 10 weeks pregnant. I lost him at 22 weeks and every since I lost him I started trying again. After a year and half of trying I went to the doctor who gave me provera to start my peroids and after having a period from the provera I had one on my on the next month and took clomid 50 mg and got pregnant the first cycle of clomid. I am now almost 20 weeks with one little boy. Best of luck to you clomid worked well for me.

wow! Congrats ladies! How did they go about prescribing you these meds? Did they do tests before hand? I'm thinking I ovulate so maybe this is not an option for me :( Sounds promising though!

Popping back over from 3rd tri - so obviously pregnant! :) I know when I was researching all this I felt like nobody was replying so I had to drop a few lines :) I'm almost 27 yrs old have had irregular periods my whole life. Have had all kinds of tests to figure out why and everything was ok. They summed it up to be that I was petite and was just irregular. Birth control regulated them like clock work, but obviously not much chance getting pregnant while on it :haha: My hubby and I decided to start trying a couple of years ago - not trying, not preventing. And nothing. Once I came off my pills I prob waited too long, but I didn't go in until a year after coming off my pills. I didn't have a period until my Dr. gave me Provera to start one then I only had that one. I made another appt with an ob/gyn 6 months after no period again, who gave me Provera again and started me on my first round of Clomid 50mg. Nothing. 2nd round of Clomid 50 mg and a BFP!! I didn't believe it was gonna work! I think I either wasn't ovulating or I was missing it. I didn't use OPK's until on Clomid and I ovulated about 3 days later than "normal" women. Some women take longer than others though! Here I am at 36.5 weeks pregnant with our first baby and we are thrilled this drug worked! And I've suffered no complications from it thus far - I've really had a very healthy pregnancy! I was a tad nervous about multiples too, but the risk is actually pretty low! Best wishes to you and hope it works as well for you as it did me :)

Hello :) I got pregnant on 3rd round of clomid 50mg had unexplained period loss possibly due to low oestrogen possibly again due to weight loss (although I'm not underweight my bmi was 20.7) strange! My huge tip with clomid is to relax and pretend youre not on it, as the first two months for me were horrendous! The last month when i got pregnant i was on holiday and relaxed! Anyway good luck with everything! Hope you get your bfp! Xx

Ps I also got an early scan to check viability and no multiples! Xx

After three MC I saw a specialist who couldn't find a reason why. He speculated that my eggs weren't maturing enough before being released so I started on 100mg of clomid. We got pg first round but of course that wasn't our promblem, that pg was viable and dd is 13 months now. For our second I didn't want to chance another MC but really didn't want to spend all that money again to go to the specialist so I went to my regular OB and explained my cycles were still short (22-24 days) so he prescribed me 50mg of clomid since I was on it before and I think, at least here, a regular ob can only prescribe up to 50mg. I could do 3 refills so I just doubled it up to have what I had before. Got pg again first go around. I'm 11wks 3days with twins but they're identical so the the clomid had nothing to do with it. You would have to be on fertility drugs for a few rounds to get fraternal twins but FYI your chances of fraternal twins naturally increases when conceiving after 30 (I'm 33).

I got pregnant with my daughter on 2nd cycle on 50mg. My twins were ironically conceived naturally! I did ovulate, but only have one tube. Good luck!

I got bfp on first round of clomid, 50 mg. took it due to no ovulation for pcos. Even though I produced 3 mature eggs, only 2 released and I'm pregnant with only 1.

I got pregnant on my first cycle of 50mg of Clomid. I ovulate naturally on my own but I used it to strengthen my "O". Well boy did it. I got my BFP and am carrying TWINS!! So exciting!

Hi
I was put on clomid for pcos and that I was not ovulating!
I was put on 50mgs and nothing happened, then 100mgs that need in a eptopic pregnancy. After that I carried on with 100mgs and on my third cycle I fell pregnant with my baby boy who is now 9months!
I think they can use clomid to make your eggs develop to the right size they need to be to produce a viable pregnancy. The multiple pregnancy thing is something that worried me but they said that's why normally they start with a small dose to make sure they are not producing multiple eggs of cause over stimulation!
I have nothing but praise for clomid as I am now pregnant again with a baby I naturally produce! They say often after your body is pregnant it remembers how to get pregnant!
It kick started my ovulation pattern to monthly and I am forever greatful for my babies!
Good luck Hun xxx

Wow, thank you. Congrats and H&H9! I, like you, still have cycles but I just have a feeling that I'm not ovulating like I should. I'm going to explain to him about my Prolactinoma and my whole history. I had NEVER been regular before that surgery and maybe my hormones are still outta whack. Actually, they still must be because I still lactate. That only happens when prolactin levels provided from the pituitary gland rises and if my prolactin levels are still high it, I wouldn't be able to conceive and I could also have lh &fsh deficiencies.

Thank you all ladies for sharing your story! I appreciate it so much! Congrats on your little ones!!!!!!!!!!!!:hugs:

Congrats!:happydance: and thanks! Hoping that even if I ovulate he can still place me on clomid to up my chances of conceiving!

Oh congrats to you doll!!!!!!!!!!!! At first I was thinking that they ONLY gave you clomid if you are not ovulating, but I'm feeling a little more confident going in to my doc tomorrow now that you ladies have helped me understand a little bit more. Even if I do ovulate... there has to be some reason why within 7 years we are still without a baby.

:happydance:H&H9:happydance: and thanks for the info!

I was only on 50mg of clomid for one cycle and am pregnant with fraternal twins....and I had never done any other fertility tx to that prior

I have PCOS and while I ovulate on my own naturally, my cycles could range from 25 days to 60 days long so it was difficult to time sex at the right time. I was given the clomid to make ovulation more predictable and give me stronger eggs for conception. it took 5 cycles of 100mg, but I got my BFP this cycle, a week before going in for surgery to check for blocked tubes,
Early scan shows a singleton pregnancy. :D

This BFP came from my first cycle of clomid, 50mg. I have PCOS and don't ovulate regularly on my own. :flower:

This BFP is also on my first cycle on clomid, 50mg.

I also have PCOS, and would ovulate some months and others not at all.

I have an U/S on November 1, to rule out multiples, and to ease my mind as my last pg ended in MC

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Did you use a triggor shot during O?
