BFP...but only with FMU?? *Update*

Hello ladies! I've been more of a lurker on this board, but I actually would like to get some outside insight on my situation. I'm in my late 20's and my cycles are irregular (meaning they come every 1-2months). I haven't been on any type BC for a year and haven't been taking any precautions either. I'm unsure of how late AF is due to my irregular cycles, I'm thinking a week or two as I was due for a cycle this month.

I used the same brand of test (3 came in a pack) and I tested 2 weeks ago with FMU and it was a faint pos. Tested later that day: BFN. Tested the next morning and it was a clear BFP (its the pic in my avi). I got excited as I've never tested BFP on a hpt before. Went to the clinic two days later in the afternoon to test and it was a BFN!!

So now I am utterly confused as to whats going on! I made a dr appointment but can't get in until the middle of next month. I'm really praying this is a BFP but would like to know if any of you have gone through/or heard of a similiar situation. Thanks!!

Maybe faulty tests or evaps as I see that is a blue dye. Could you try a pink dye like a frer or a digi. Surely you would get a pos digi if that was 2 weeks ago. I can't imagine why your bloods would be negative. Some women don't get pos with smu early on but bloods would still be pos, no? Have you had any bleeding? Maybe a chemical? So sorry I can't be of much help. You have a pretty strange situation on your hands! Best of luck!

I've read up on how a lot of people hate blue dyes, but honestly I've always used them-and never had a faint line, evap line, or a false positive in the last 5+ years I've been taking hpt's. That line showed up immediately (within 2 min) which is why I was led to believe it was a BFP.
I didn't get a blood test done at the clinic, only a urine test. The blood work will (hopefully) be done next month at my appointment.

If you only got a urine test at the doctor then I'd say you're most likely pregnant. I would take another test now and if it's definately positive then you have your answer because if that was 2 weeks ago it should be a blaring positive by now.

You're pregnant(Congrats) those test at the clinic's and some Dr's offices suck! They can only detect 100ml of hcg,where as hpt can detect as low as 25ml.This same thing has happened to me with 3different pregnancies.4 this reason I never go to the Dr or clinic until my period is at least a day late.GL!!

Oh and amazingly you've never gotten evaps on blue dye test.I get instant thick blue ones every single time I take one.Even when I'm on my period.I freaking HATE THEM!!!

I hope you're pregnant....it does sound promising, but I agree with the above poster about boue dye tests, I've used them for years and every now and then I get a bad batch and get positive lines in all the tests. It caused me a lot of heartache in the past...since last year, I stopped using them altogether...and now I only use Frer or answer or something like that to confirm a pregnancy.

Hopefully. And it sounds like this is the case, you just went to the docs early and their tests which are designed to be less sensitive, to ensure no false positives...just didn't pick up the hcg in your urine. I'm sure you should see a blazing,y obvious positive now if you retest. I'd offset the cost of a digital and weigh it against your peace of mind!

I tested this afternoon with a frer and i think the blue-dye tests may have 'got' me this time.

I kinda see a line, but I feel like it should be darker than that by now. But then again I don't have a clue when I ovulated since my cycles are off. I'll re-test using a digi w/ fmu in a few days to set my mind at ease.

Very confusing tests, I agree your Frer should be much darker if you got a bfp two weeks ago....I do see a line in the Frer, how long did it take for the faint line to show up? It's really odd. I used Frer this time and I saw my tests get noticeable darker each day, after three days...I had three tests in the box, it was almost as dark as the cover line...so, I dunno....really odd!!

It showed up right away, I thought I was seeing things so I took the test apart. I do have a yeast infection right now (TMI...sorry) so Im unsure if that could mess with the reading??

No a yeast infection wouldn't affect the result.if it came up right away you must be pregnanct...you definitely should get your bloods drawn though, there's several possibilities...either you miscalculated and you're not as far along as you thought, highly possible...the clear blue tests were a sensitive batch and the Frer is a less sensitive test...also possible.

Your urine was much more diluted than you thought....leading to a faint Frer.

Or, a sad possibility, but definitely worth getting your bloods drawn...you've had a chemical or early miscarriage , there's still hcg in the system but its decresing, therefore showing a faint positive...but you haven't miscarried yet...horrible possibly, but, since your test is faint and you should have a much darker test by now, I'd definitely be finding out what's going on

Was the test in your display pic a sainsburys one or boots own coz they dectect at 15 mlu an frers detect at 25 mlu and I can see that line on the frer quite clearly !!! But I would go get a blood test done xxxxx

The test in my display is a Walgreens Early response test taken with fmu. This frer test I took later on today, after I've eaten and drank (a lot).

Thanks SweetDot-I'm hoping that I just diluted my urine/or the other test was super sensitive. I'm looking into getting an appointment to get blood drawn as this is driving me completely insane!
