i took archie to see the osteopath this week for the first time as he is a cranky monkey and has colic and she suggested giving him a probiotic called bifidobacterium infantis as he had a gastric bug at 10 days and this could be contributing to his colic as a bug destroys good bacteria...it is a natural 'good' bacteria that is found naturally in breat milk but not in formula(archie is ff)
there is only 1 company who makes a probiotic that is suitable for babies under 6months and a jar of it costs £25 but this is for 2 months supply( this was the one she reccommended to me)

has anyone ever heard of or used this before?

I haven't and tbh, I always think this stuff is a load of sh*t. I'd certainly ask your GP for their opinion before buying it. It can't hurt to wait a little longer to buy it but you don't want to waste your money.

Aptamil First formula milk has prebiotics already in it. I changed from SMA Gold to Aptamil for this very reason.
