Bigger Babies Club

EJ was tounge tied, i had to exclusively pump for him for 5wks and he outgrew the tie and went back to BF like a pro lol he wanted milk didnt care where it came from lol and couldnt stomach formula.
btw your LO is sooo cute

thank you so much for the welcome and compliment on Malcolm, EJ is adorable also! :flower:
It is good to know that EJ outgrew it, Malcolm was clipped in the hospital but she did not clip it all the way and we had issues with the BFing, he is doing so much better now, still goes back to being chompy sometimes but my lactation consultant was fantastic and gave me great tips to get him back on track, I am hoping that he stays on track, I am sure he will, he is a trooper!

Welcome mauigirl,

My boy was big but not that big! Are you using the infant insert for the ergo? You might need to get rid of it sooner than later, those big guys outgrow it quick.

Weight updates ladies?
We're topping the scales at 34lbs at almost 17 months, size 3 toddler clothing, he just keeps growing it's scary! I'm 5'5 and OH is barely 5'10, not sure how this happened!! LOL

I bought the infant insert but he could never use it, I just got it about a week ago and he was already 17#, the lady assured me I would need it , I will have to take it back and get him something else, they had some really cute fedora's!:winkwink:

yeah EJ outgrew the Tounge tie as well as all his clothes lol, hes currently wearing size 2 ( Aliss i think our sizing is a bit more generous over here than out there ) there not alot of difference between my boys in clothing just one size lol

hi mauigirl!

my DD was 11lb 14oz born at 40 weeks and my DS was 11lb 3.5oz born at 39 weeks.
they deffinatly do outgrow clothes and nappies quickly thats for sure!
my little girl, Chloe is 25 months and in 3-4 tops and 18-24months trousers! long upper body and shorter legs smaller waist! lol Max my DS is 8 weeks and still in 3-6, not sure what he weighs now but last check 2 weeks ago he was 13lb 3oz. he did drop down to 9lb 13oz tho and also had a tounge tie! he had it snipped at 5 days old and was fine at breastfeeding i just couldnt keep up with a toddler to run after aswell!

Hi there !
I haven't had a chance to read through all the pages yet, but was wondering if I could join this group?

Matthew was born at 39 weeks a very average 7lbs 9oz. He was listed as being in the 75th percentile.
Now he is 2 months old and approx. 97th percentile! He is just over 14lbs. and 61cm long. The doctor said he is the size of a 4 month old.
Already, he is almost out of all the 3 month clothing. Currently he is wearing 3-6month sleepers, but still in some 3 month clothing as well.
He is completely breastfed. No bottles so far, though we are thinking we might express so OH can do a feed every once in a while.

My concern is that because he is so large people will expect him to act older. I don't want him to be 'forced' to grow up faster than is normal for him.
He is very alert and quite strong for his developmental/actual age (2months), but probably normal for his physical age (approx. 3-4 months). I don't think he is abnormally advanced, but because of his size and musculature he is quite strong physically.

Just looking for a place with others that have faced and are facing the wonderful and trying times of raising a child that is on the taller/larger size. :flower:

That's weird because Fran was also born 7lbs 9oz and was right on the 50th centile??

She is now just under the 99.6th centile for weight and just above the 75th for height. She has never been expected to act older than she is - but has hit all her milestones beautifully and at the right time so far. She's had no problems crawling or pulling herself up because of her weight either :)

Her weight gain was very rapid for the first 6 months but has really evened out since she started rolling and moving around - even more so now she's crawling. She has been following her curve for the last 3 months instead of spiking upwards xx

:hi: canadabear - your LO in the pumpkin outfit is soooooooooooooooooooooo adorable!! Chloe was a little over, she was 6lb 14oz but shot up centile wise, once she evened out it stopped the HV's saying I should watch her weight thankfully. I haven't really had many confuse her age thankfully and i'm warery of it as this happened to me when I was older, although I do find it weird people saying she is small ?!! As up until now she has been in bigger clothes and is tall, she was joint tallest in her nursery class recently at 90cms and the kid she was joint with was older than her.

bigbetty - he he Chloe had the same costume - although she wouldn't wear the hat! :flower:

happy late birthday tho Chloe kte!

i had Max weighed at his pediatrician appointment wednesday and he is now 14lb 4oz and 60.5cm long :) nearly same as what my Chloe was at 5 weeks he is 9 weeks now btw! lol she was 14.1oz and 61cm! i think i am thankful they are slow gainers otherwise they would be huge! lol

I wonder if the growth charts that are used here in Spain are different than the UK? He just seems to be at such a high percentile here and looks so big compared to the other babies his age.

He just reached 9 weeks today! And I think he grew again over night.. :haha: Some days I feel like I wake up to a completely different baby!

Lol we managed to divert her attention long enough to get it on and take a few pics before she pulled it off hahahaha

well Max is 91st percentile and was 9 weeks friday just gone weighing 14.4lb.

girls charts are also different to boys ones as my daughter was on a higher centile, i suppose it because boys grow quicker? idk!! xxx

Hi xxx,
WOW, I can't believe how close Malcolm's birth weight was to your 2 lo's! Malcolm had his 2 month immunizations today, he was 2 months old yesturday and weighs 19# 4 oz(8,731 g) and is 26 1/4" long my goodness! he is leaving 6-9 month clothing going into 12 month, my mom asked if I think he is going to plateau or keep going, I have no idea, LOL :haha:; Malcolm is strictley BF, he doesn't like bottles at all, because of his tongue tie though I was pumping A LOT to make sure he could get enough milk, now I have oversupply issues which may be part of his gaining so fast, not sure. Trying to get it under control, I will know how you feel when Malcolm turns 2, we will try for #2 then, I can't imagine having 2 but I can't wait either!

Malcolm was 2 months yesturday and had his 2 month check up today, he is 19# 4 oz and 26 1/4" long!! OMG!!! leaving 6-9 month clothing going into 12 month, my pediatrician showed me his growth chart he is off the charts! :haha::dohh:

yeah the girls and boys charts are differently caus they tend to grow in different patterns

hey where is everyone on here lately?!

Maxy is now 17lb at almost 17 weeks :D my little chunk! how are all babies and mummys doing? xxx

well I had little alister, i say little he was my smallest at birth weighed in at 9ln 7oz and at 2 1/2wks weighed 10lb 5oz tracking nicely on the 91st centile for weight and 98.6th for height and head size

congratulations lynnikins! he's lovely! same percentile as my little big man! xxx

its odd caus hes still wearing clothes than my secondborn never fitted in lol

Congrats on your 'little' man! :happydance:

Well.. we have our 4month doctor appointment today.. can't wait to see the look on her face when we weigh him! OH is SURE he is well over 10kg already! EEK!
My mother sent us some clothing for winter.. 6-12month sizes and he is fitting in them almost perfectly! Just a bit long in the legs!
The only downside I can see at haveing a larger baby at this stage is the clothing issue!! He just grows out of everything so darn fast.. :dohh:

Hope everyone had a very merry christmas and is looking forward to a wonderful 2012!
