I went in on Friday Febuary 18th for a growth scan to check on a cyst of my ovary and to see how the baby was growing. They took several measurements and the technician said she was measure 34 weeks and I was 36 weeks at the time. The technician said I shouldnt worry and she just might be a smaller baby so she left to get the doctor and see if she could discharge us.
The doctor came in 15 mins later and said because she was so small she wasnt getting nutrients from me anymore and they were going to induce me. So I of course freaked out i thought I still had 4 more weeks left. They put me into labor and delivery right away. I was 1 cm dilated when they first checked. They started the first gel to soften my cervix and I walked around. They tried to put an IV in me 4 different times and my veins collapsed every time.
I did the 3 gels and late that night they started my pitocin and gave me a little something to take the edge off my not so bad contractions and help me sleep. The next morning my OB came in and decided to pop my waters and right after my contractions started at this point I was still 2 cm dilated. After about 30 minutes of unbearable contractions i asked for a epidural in which it took them another 1 1/2 to to get me the epidural. Right after they put the epidural in the went to put my cathedure in her head was popping out. So they rushed the doctors in. 2 pushes and I had my beautiful baby girl. 4 lbs 6oz.
