Whats everyones opinons? Im planning on having a black and white theme as I think it is pretty classy, plus we r having a small weding so it will be easier to plan.

Im having a summer wedding though so dont know if it will be too harsh? Im not talking all black or anything... Here's some of my inspiration. Ive not decided whther to have my bridesmiad in black with a white sash or white with black sash which might not look as harsh in the summer? What does everyone think?

Black and white can look very chic when pulled off well. My mum has been asked to make a few black and white wedding cakes of late which are nice but when you look back at the photos, will look very dated (may be something that bothers people, everyone's individual).

I think go for it but it needs to look elegant. What alternative colours would you go for? Just thinking out loud, if your bridesmaids are in black in the height of Summer, they may roast in the sun.

Hmmm yeah I was thinking along the same lines with the heat etc. The only other colours im thinking of r maybe lavendar of hot pink. Guess ive plenty of time to decide :)

Hot pink is very in but only suits some skin colours so you have to be careful with that.

Lavendar is nice and fresh, you could mix it up with green (like a celery or pale green) and white to make it summery and fresh? Or dusky rose would compliment the lavendar too. (think dried flowers colours).

I think you should have whatever you want though, I can't stress that enough :)

my wedding theme was black and white, my dress was black and white and so were my bridesmaids we got married in August 2008 and i loved it i thought my theme turned out fab! im a photographer and have done a few black and white themes myself doing their photos, it looks so beautiful! x good luck

I had a black and white wedding.
I wore all white, while my bridesmaid was in black and white. (black skirt, white top and black sash)
I had white roses with black diamantes and black feathers, while BM had white roses and black organza ribbon.
My aunt made a white 2 tier cake with black feather topper and black ribbon and butterflies.
Table centrepieces were white candles wrapped with black sequins and on a mirror candle plate. The table was scattered with silver and black heart confetti.

Here are my wedding pics (a mix of professional and guest pics) if you want to look through for ideas.

My sister in Law (2b) had black and white and it looked lovely!! She wore a white three quarter dress and the Bridesmaids had Black cocktail dresses. It looked very classy and the room was sone out lovely with black and white balloons etc. She had a boquet of deep red (almost look black) cala lillies and the bridesmaids had cream roses!!
This was in September but it was a gorgeous day, don't think the bridesmaids overheated to much!!

I love black and white.
