I was booked in at the ante-natal clinic today just for an appointment to see a consultant about problems in my previous pregnancy though no idea why they got me in this early!
Anyway, they bought my notes back and said i had to have a scan first before I could see a consultant as obviously i hadnt got around to having one as I'm only 7weeks.

They took me in to the scan and straight away the ultrasound consultant started asking me if I'd had any bleeding, spotting or pain. I said no as I haven't. I asked him if there was something that lead him to believe I should have bled or been in pain and at this point he hadnt mentioned the baby so my frist thoughtt was oh geez, there's no heartbeat. Que major panic. But we saw a baby measuring 6weeks 6days which is only 1 day behind what i thought i should be with a heartbeat.

Apparently I have a bleed next to the gestational sac that measures 3.1 x 0.9cm and now I'm very concerned. He didnt really tell me anything and although I asked if this would increase the chances of misscarrying he didnt really give me an answer.

Has anyone else experienced this and been fine?

I have this too. I went to the hospital a few times for MAJOR bleeding from it and the little bean is still ok! It's likely a SCH and will resolve itself. I'm almost 10 weeks now and everything seems to be just perfect. It's hard to relax, but I'm told this is very common.

Hang in there! I know it's hard!

HI Erin, thanks for replying. It's so worrying isnt it? I'm glad everything is okay in your pregnancy and hope that mine progresses well too :-)

Is the bleed to the right in your display picture, the black splodge?

I had a small blood sac at my 7 week scan, by my 12 week one it had gone :) xx

Thanks Jessie, Im hoping mine is gone by 12 weeks too :hugs:

I have this to! I've been Spotting on and off for about a week now nOthing major just a few times when I wipe, so went for a scan I thought I was around 6 weeks 2 days the sono said I was measuring around five and a half to six weeks there was a heartbeat present she also mentioned I had a small hematoma next to the sac that was causing the bleeding she didn't say how big it was and she did say it was organised whatever that means she never booked me in for a follow up just said I may have more bleeding but it should dissapear on its own, I'm worried though especially as I am
Measuring a few days behind
When I was pregnant with my soon I had lots of early spotting and had three early scans but nothing was ever mentioned about me having a hematoma then

I have this too! have had some bleeding on numerous occasions and I'm now 8+5 and have a private scan booked for tmrw so fingers crossed! x

Yeppers! Is that what yours kind of looks like?

Yes, I had this also and I had some bleeding. It resolved itself and everything is looking great!

I had one that was seen at my 6+6 u/s although the dr at that clinic never told me about it. I had no clue until I picked up my records to bring to my new Dr last Friday. All it said was a small SC bleed, no measurement. I too have not experienced any bleed out with mine but I do get right sided pain. My new APRN did a scan so she can get measurements on it. She just told me it's not small but not large so is a moderate bleed. By judging I would say it was maybe 3 cm and was to the left of the sac, almost like above posters in her pic only closer to the sac and a bit smaller. My Aprn wasn't concerned at all :/.. told me I don't need to make any lifestyle changes but I am concerned seeing as the last place classified it as small and she did medium? So I figured I will increase my fluids and take it easy and, sadly, refrain from sex for awhile but she claims there is no need for all that. I have had 2m/c after my last child so I realy don't want to chance it

Hi,

I had this with both of my girls, its called a Subchorionic Hemorrhage. with my first daughter it caused mild cramping and a fair amount of bleeding, and with my second daughter I had quite sore cramping and quite a bit of bleeding. With both girls it had cleared up by 12 weeks, bleeding started around 8 weeks both times.

The bleed is the black bit to the right of the baby I think.

Thanks everyone who replied, it's nice hearing positive stories and outcomes to this and makes me feel better. Hopefully everything will be fine and it'll resolve itself

Sams - Good luck with your scan!
