Bleeding and going for scan scared :(

Hello,well today I started to get light to moderate bleeding was exactly like a period.I went off to the hospital,and they are sending me for a scan to see if everything is ok.The doctor told me it could be perfectly normal as alot of women bleed during pregnancy,or I am have a miscarriage or a threatned miscarriage.I wont know if there is a heartbeat until I have the scan.I am so so scared and am fearing the worst,I know there might not be anything wrong but im preparing myself for the worst
