Let me give you a little back story before I explain..
I am 23 and currently pregnant for a second time. I carried my daughter full term and was induced at 40w2d. She is completely healthy and I only had one problem with her during my pregnancy. She was a twin and I lost the twin at 12 weeks and was put on bed-rest. The twin never developed, there was just an extra sac on the ultra sounds. I had light bleeding but nothing more serious than that. I was on bed-rest for 2 weeks and after that I was fine and had no more issues.
Right now I am 16w6d pregnant with my second child. At 12 weeks I woke up one morning to pee and the toilet was filled with blood. My husband took me to the ER and they did a sonogram. The baby's HR was 148 and he/she was moving around a little bit in there. So that put my mind at ease. They told me that I had a subchronic bleed underneath my placenta and that it could potentially detach and I would lose the baby. So I was placed on bed-rest again. I met with my DR the day after my trip to the ER and he told me to stay on bed-rest for 2 weeks and then we will get a follow up sono to see the progress. The bleeding subsided after a week on bed-rest. Right before I reached 14w I started bleeding yet again. It was dark brown this time. The doctor told me that it was probably the bleed passing through and that I should be ok and to just make sure that I get that ultrasound in a few days. I got it at 14w5d and it took them a week & a half to get the results to my doctor. When he finally got the results he didnt check them because he was on vacation. Can't fault him for that.
A days ago when I was 16w5d I woke up to heavy bleeding again. My husband took me to the ER again and they sent me home and told me to "just go get a sonogram" Needless to say I am filing a complaint with them for how the treated my husband and I while there. I left there and went and got a ultrasound a few hours later (had to make an appointment, it was a Friday) and they were told to STAT my results to the doctor, on call for my dr since he was on vaca until today actually, as soon as I left. Well I never received a phone call to explain anything. Come Satuday I was still bleeding and very crampy. So I went to Sinai (a hospital in Baltimore, MD where my dr also practices) and they told me that they think I still have a subchronic bleed somewhere under the Ges Sac that is going to continue to bleed due to the pressure the baby is putting on it from growing. The baby is happy and healthy still inside with a HR of 170.
Today is Monday and I am still bleeding. I have an appt with my doctor tomorrow at 1:15 to see what he wants me to do.
Have any other moms had this happen to them? All this bleeding? Any advice?
