hi, everyone, im 5 +5 weeks, ive had some cramping like period type pains for the past 2 weeks now which i just put down to streching, anyway i just went to the toilet and noticed i have some bleeding - its only slight at the moment but thats how it started when i had my last misscarage. im so so scared, i really dont want to lose this baby. ive rang my gp who have said ring back in the morning so they can see how things are going, but im stressing so much, i just dont know what to do. sorry if im rambling

im sorry hun all i can say is rest up tonight a ring ur docs as soon as u get up i havent had much experiance in this area. it could possibly be spotting . :hugs:for u xxx

Aw hun really sorry.....I hope it is just a harmless bleed....Go to A&E if you are unhappy with what the doc said...:hugs:

:hugs::hugs:The best thing you can do now is to try your best to relax and put your feet up. I know it's really hard not to worry and keep going to the toilet to check if it's worse but you need to try.

I had some early bleeding and like you I've M/C'd before so I was really worried about it but my doctor was great and reasured me that many women who have bleeding don't M/C.

The cramping is quite normal too because like you said, it's normally stretching pains. A little bit of blood might just be caused by hormonal changes and as long as it doesn't become heavier or the cramping gets stronger, it's a good sign. :hugs: :hugs:

Like someone else said you could go to A&E if it gets worse. Unfortunatly they're unlikely to be able to see anything on a scan just yet but they will do a blood test to check your HCG levels and check your cervix to see if it's open and if you're actively bleeding or not.

I'm with everyone else, try and relax (I know it's difficult). I had bleeding a couple of weeks ago and I passed a clot, I was really worried. Nobody saw me for 3 days and then I had a scan and everything was ok. It's very common.

If the bleeding does get heavier or you are in pain go to A&E. They do tend to examine you quicker if you do that.

I hope everything's ok hun :hugs:

Oh Tinkerbell I am truely feeling for you right now. Easier said than done but really try to relax. Maybe get some sleep to let some time pass. It could be absolutely nothing as from others that have had the same symptoms and everything to turn out fine. I await any news.:hugs::hugs:

thanks everyone for all your kind words, i am going to try and get some rest but i dont think thats gonna be that easy! hopefully everthing will be okay tonight and ill ring my gp in the morning. will it be too early for a scan as ill only 5+6 weeks tomorrow and will i have to have an internal? i had an internal before when i had some bleeding and as soon as the doc finished i just started bleeding really heavy and in the back of my mind i always wondered if that made things worse. i just cant believe this is happening again, i just cant. life can be so cruel sometimes

Its really difficult when you have experienced a loss in the past!

I had quite a TTC journey and when I started bleeding with my little lady I thought I was doomed! It continued on through most of my first tri nothing heavy or clots but there when I visited the bathroom! Shes with me now so it can be quite common. Try to relax (harder then said) and ring your GP or early pregnancy uniy (just ring local hosp switch board) and ask for some advice and they will help you from there. If you heavy bleed and its accompanied by pain thats sharper than what you would consider normal please head to your A&E

Hope all is well

x

I had an internal also btw some say they aren't the best idea but they know what they are doing.

:hugs: thinking of you and hope everything will be ok. Try to relax but if it was me I would go to A&E. Just to put your mind at ease :hugs:

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. Fingers are crossed for you.

Like everyone has said really try to take it easy ( I know for a fact it is HARD) If the cramps get worse (really painful) or you start bleeding any heavier get to the emergency room (ER) at the hospital. I got yelled at by the triage nurse (head nurse) for not coming in sooner when I had my bleeding because she said that it can get bad fast. I don't want to scare you but I learned a lot on my ER trip. If you go go in they will do a pelvic exam to make sure that your cervix is still closed, then they may set you up with an IV depending on how long you will need to wait for an ultrasound, they will also take blood while you are waiting to do pregnancy tests and check some of your levels (hemoglobins, white blood cells, ect.) During the ultrasound they look at a lot of things, even though they didn't know what caused my bleeding they could see where it was coming from. This was strangely reassuring in that even though I couldn't do anything I felt like I had some control back.

Best wishes, we're thinking of you. Please keep us posted.

hi everyone. firstly thanks so much for ALL your support. well the bleeding seems to have settled over night i rang my gp first thing this morning and was told to come in at 12 which i did. i explained to the doctor what had happened and she said she would refer me to epu for a scan. however when she rang them she was told they couldnt fit me in for a scan till thursday, so im thinking oh great! but my doctor said they would refer me to the gyne emergancy ward, she give me a letter and said go asap. ive not been to the gyne ward before so i was expecting alot of prodding and poking! the consult did ask me if i wanted to have an internal, which came with a prompt reply of no, which she was totally fine about - normally i had them try to pressure me into it (and i always give in!). i was then given a scan but was warned that a, as id just had a wee and b, as i was only 5+6 nothing might not show and i might hace to have an internal one if that was okay with me. well you can imagine my GREAT joy and surprise when she turned the screen to me and there was my little baby with its heart beating away!!! i am over the moon and couldnt thank the consultant enough. the only thing was the consultant couldnt say why i had been bleeding, should i stop worry, is it okay to relax once the heartbeat as been seen? or am i still in the grey area?

I'm so happy for you hun :hugs: I would just relax now. I've had bleeding before and it's gone onto healthy pregnancies and once you see a heartbeat that usually mean everything is progressing well.

So happy to hear that things are good. It's a huge relief to see that heartbeat isn't it :) Once we had made it that far with the good news I was told to monitor the bleeding (if anymore started) and come back if I started getting nasty cramps again, other than that, take it easy. I'm so glad to hear that everything looks ok

Yay! so glad everything is ok :hugs:. I'm sure the baby will be ok, I had lots of bleeding in the first trimester and some in the 2nd and the baby is doing fine.

thanks again everyone, my happiness as been a little bit clouded now as ive started bleeding lightly again :( got doctors appiontment tomorrow so i will have to wait and see. whats the chances of things going wrong once an heartbeat as been detected or does that not make a difference?

I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions, I just wanted to say how happy I am that you have had some good news in all this. There is a lot of good advice in previous posts and a lot of ladies seem to have experienced bleeding, so it sounds quite common. Try to take solice in that at least. Wishing you good health honey. :hugs:
