Question for anyone who has had a saline ultrasound (SIS) - I had one yesterday. It was performed as a follow up to the hysteroscopy I had 4 weeks ago. I've been waiting on AF to come since my hysteroscopy (41 days ago) and so far nothing. After the SIS yesterday (which showed my uterus as all clear and good to go) I had minimal spotting which stopped all together last night.

Today I went to the bathroom and noticed fresh red blood...much more than just spotting. Could this be as a result of the SIS yesterday, or do you think I can consider this AF?

My RE didn't say anything about spotting for more than 1 day, so I don't really know what to expect. Any insight based on your experience would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Didn't want to read and run. I've never had either procedure so can't comment but if the flow keeps up then I would say it is AF. Watch throughout today and into tomorrow.

hiyaa wouldnt know much about the hysteroscopy and not sure if the sis is what ive had where they put a ultrasound stick in your vagina, never heard it called that if it is one but i had one done and had minimal spotting but had a problem with sex a few years ago where if i had to rough a sex (tmi) if would cause bleeding because it knocks the lining of the uterus (basically where your period blood builds up before it breaks away and causes your period) plus if your due on anyway it could have knocked you into having you period, but like i said i had this problem with sex and is a SIS is what i think it is, im guessing it can cause the same problem xx

It was an ultrasound where they inject saline inside your uterus to visualize the cavity and see the inside walls better.

so, the spotting turned to a light AF. I think I'll count today as CD1. only thing that confuses me is that I thought the first AF after hysteroscopy was supposed to be heavy. Why is mine light? Who knows...maybe everyone is different.
