I've been up for hours, can't breathe, coughing throat like sandpaper, weird pain in my spine and I know I have to get up to go to work but I feel too rubbish to go. Its just I feel so guilty when it comes to taking time off (teacher). Dearest OH says to put myself and LO first. But you know how you always feel worst off during the night, if I start to feel okay during the day I'll feel even more guilty especially as I'm off Tuesday anyway for OBS/MW/Scan- and in addition to this should I cancel the appointments on Tuesday as I don't want to give people my lurgy. I know doc would be annoyed (high risk- BP and type 1 diabetes). I probably know the answer to both these questions but just need a little reassurance....Thanks:dohh:

Please don't feel guilty if you're not feeling well. Listen to OH and take care of yourself and baby.

Think about how exhausted you would feel tomorrow from feeling so crappy tonight!! I say go ahead and take the day off. You and LO need it :) As for the dr. I would just wait until tomorrow to make any decisions about that.

I'm a teacher and I'm not going in today. Going to call in sick soon. I was ill all last week and the weekend before but was told I had to be in due to ofsted. I've a tterrible cough and so much phlem plus a bit of spd. My chest actually hurts. I think I've only got 3 actual lessons anyway!

Rung in sick set cover and back in bed with paracetamol and mint tea. Thanks guys. x

Rather look after yourself and your baby as both of you comes first at the moment. One day at home can maybe help that you don't need to be booked off for 2 weeks by doctor later on, if you think at it that way.

Don't feel guilty at all. In pregnancy your immune system is lower and it takes you longer to recover as there are so many medicines you can't take. Take as long as you need off and put you and your little one first.
