Blood clotting

I have a son who has just turned 4, during that pregnancy i ended up in hospital at 28weeks due to DVT and had to have daily blood thinning injections up until 6 weeks after birth.

I fell pregnant again in August 2010 but sadly miscarried in the October at 11weeks, i have been trying to concieve on and off ever since, i haven't been on any contraception during this time.

I have read bits and pieces about blood clotting preventing getting pregnant, and can't help but think this may be the reason for this miscarriage. Does anyone have any further information about this? Thanks in advance

On top of having hypothyroid, and PCOS, I also have thrombophilia. Thrombophilia is a blood clotting disorder. I was diagnosed after having 4 miscarriages. They did a test where they drew out SEVERAL vials of blood. I don't have any symtoms from it. It just causes me to mc at around 6 weeks. If the doctor knows you have a clotting disorder, they can prescribe you medicine to take. I also know of women who take a baby aspirin per day.

Thanks for replying .. I believe this is why i could have miscarried then, the doctor knew i had a clotting disorder but they did'nt put me on anything when i found out i was pregnant. I've heard alot about aspirin, i think i might have to give that a shot. Does a blood clotting disorder not prevent you from concieving then?

I'm not really sure. I think it does interfere sometimes. Every once in a while I will have a clotty af and wonder if it was an egg that was trying to implant but couldn't. Are you taking b vitamins? I take b6, b12, and extra folic acid and an 81mg asprin.
