blood in urine, no UTI.... so scared :(

Hi ladies,

Over the past few weeks ive been feeling dizzy, had buzzing in my ears and just generally unwell. I had some blood tests which showed low ferritin for which i was prescribed iron tablets. My doc requested urine tests which have both come back as showing blood in my urine with the first sample showing 24 red cells in my urine and the second showing 45 red cells. My doc said this was 'terrible' (just to make me panic even more). Ive been dipping my urine for the past few days and drinking loads of water etc but the blood is still there I have to repeat the urine test next week and then be referred for tests. IM PETRIFIED. I have major health anxiety anyway but i just keep looking at charlie and wondering if im gonna see him grow up

The urine tests show no bacteria but i do have some lower back pain and occasional burning/feeling like i need to go back to the toilet which seems to happen if i have a night out and drink alcohol.

Anyone else had this and not foudn out they have something really wrong?

Im so scared. Im so sick of feeling dizzy and unwell this has been going on for weeks. Its making it really hard to look after Charlie because i feel in a constant state of utter panic about my symptoms as well as unwell. Im not sure if the worrying is actually causing my dizziness tbh I just feel weird.

Sorry hear that hun, have they checked you for a kidney infection or kidney stones...I know once before I had a kidney infection that could not be picked up in my urine.

I don't know how they test for a kidney infection but they've booked me in for an appt at the hospital at the end of September. I don't have much pain tho so I'm not sure it could be an infection? Gonna go mad by then with worry

I've just been through about a month of this. I was having a lot of pain in pelvic area and my back so they dipped my urine and found blood. I had quite a few more dips done and each showed blood so like you I was very worried.

Anyway, had an ultrasound done the other day and my kidneys are looking great which is usually what would be causing blood in urine and my blood tests show all is good so basically yep, you can [occasionally I imagine] have blood in your urine and for everything to be okay. I think with the pain they thought it potentially could have been a kidney stone that passed by the time I had the ultrasound but blood work is okay so no damage done etc.

I have also been feeling quite poorly with it but they think that is something totally unrelated now.

I've just been for my cystoscopy this afternoon and it was normal. I have to go back for a CT scan of my kidneys etc then see the consultant with the results. I feel a bit better now. I actually think the dizziness I'm getting is due to anxiety coz I've noticed that when I feel stressed it gets worse. Life's never simple is it :/ Thanks for your reply. I also have health anxiety. So your anxiety is probably making everything worse. I have also had a kidney stone and it was awful. Severe back pain, abdominal cramps, blood in urine. It may just take a while for everything to resolve. I would just stay hydrated. What about pure cranberry juice or cranberry supplements?

Years ago they found blood in my urine and did lots of tests I had dye in my kidneys and everything but after all the tests they never found anything and concluded that I must be a small part of the population that just has blood in my urine for no reason! I also went through a period of about 6 months where I was so dizzy and lost my balance I couldn't even stand up in the shower! This was at a different time then the blood in my urine but I had so many tests done and once again nothing I think it was from stress as after I left my job and became less stressed it went away. It's amazing the things stress and anxiety can make you feel physically and not just mentally. Hope all goes well for you

Hi i havent had blood in my wee like you but a couple of days ago i started feeling sick and when i was sick there was blood in it, like you i am worried sick and havent told anyone yet and all i keep doing is holding my girls tight and wondering if i will see them grow up. Has anyone ever had this before ive also got pain around my ribs and sides. Hope everything works out for you
