Blood Thinning Injections?

Depending on why you are on them you will most likely be switched to Heparin twice daily and they start the injections 6-8 hours after delivery, depending on your bleeding then. Bleeding should be fine afterwards - best of luck!

Have they also told you to take aspirin? The doctor has told me I will need shots once a until 30something weeks and then switch to something shorter acting twice a day. He said I would only need aspirin after delivery (for the rest of my life). Have you been tested for Factor V Leiden?

I don't have Factor V Leiden, but will be taking aspirin for the rest of life as I have antiphospholipid syndrome - a blood clotting disorder. I'm currently injecting fragmin. At first I was horrified, however every day gets easier and you'll find ways to make it more comfortable. Good luck x

I have aps too and am on heparin 2x day and a baby aspirin daily as well. I agree the shots do get easier except for when your belly starts growing and it's harder to pinch the skin
