Hey ladies I'm hoping some of the other BLW mummies might be able to help me.

We've been doing BLW from day one of weaning and started 2 months ago. Everything has been going really well and LO loves his food. However in the last week he has started taking really big pieces of food and swallowing them without chewing. It started with mandarin segments, but he's started to do it with meat, bread, almost everything! You can see that he sometimes struggles to get it down and it's occassionally brought tears to his eyes! I'm usually really confident that he won't choke, but now I'm beginning to worry.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you have any advice? How can I make sure he chews properly before swallowing?

Thanks ladies!

Ella was exactly the same, the HV assured me she would learn to chew. She still sometimes tries to swallow bits too big and will keep trying to swallow the big bits until it goes down.
