I'm always one to want to read up and research everything, and pregnancy falls in that category! Any recommendations for what (DH or) I can read? I've heard that "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is the go-to book but also not the best resource. (Don't remember why though) Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Im laughing over Jenny McCarthy's book. its more on the funny side, tho.

The whats to expect book is OK.

I also bought for my kindle 'expect this' which I havent started yet, but it was cheap so I said why not, and I also bought the Mayo Clinic's Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy simply because it received good reviews!

I second the Mayo Clinic's book! Out of all I read with my first pregnancy, that was the best. I have given it as a gift to all my friends who become pregnant with their first. :)

What? Doesn't the baby come out with instructions??
K really, I haven't read anything other then what to expect when expecting, only cuz that's what my dr gave me. But, I hear alot about dr Spock, that might be outdated though.

If only babies came with instructions! There would be a lot fewer clueless people in the world!!!

Lol, true! Good thing it isn't men who have babies, the instructions would never be read!

I'll give you the advice my mum gave me when she saw I was reading booksabout babies......
She reminded me that the baby didn't read the book!
Whatever you read you will never be prepared so by all means read but always expect the unexpected!
Good luck xxx

And I thought every baby arrived with a handbook and giant plastic toys! Thanks for the suggestions - I'm ordering the Mayo book this afternoon and going to try to learn how to relax!

My family doc (when I first told her I was pregnant) recommended "The complete book of pregnancy and childbirth" by Sheila Kitzinger
It was quite good, I thought. Fairly comprehensive!
