New here.
Just seeing if anyone else has high blood pressure and protein in their urine. I just got back from my weekly appointment and the doctor wants me to do a third 24 hour urine test. I'm 33 weeks pregnant today. While there, he had me do a non-stress test and said that our little boy was fine, but went on to say that he hopes he doesn't have to put me in the hospital. I've been on "bed rest" since 26 weeks and it's driving me crazy.

Awwww hun. Hope it all works out for you. I'll be interested to keep an eye on this post I diagnosed with high bp just before 28 weeks. Had protein in urine at the doctors but by the time I got go hospital it had gone so they are keeping an eye on.me. now on bp medication to lower it. Glad your baby is ok. Keep us updated. X

Thankfully my doctor hasn't put me on any medicines. I told hubby yesterday that I was glad we had a doctor who was looking out for us and not one that just plain doesn't care! I try to monitor my bp here at home but since we ran to the hospital last week when it was in the 160s/80s and they did the non-stress test there and bp was back down to normal numbers, I just try to ignore it. My bp never seems to stay around the same range the past few weeks-its been as low as 90s/50s and as high as 170s/90s. As long as it's a gradual climb, we should be fine. I hope your protein count stays down. The first time I had to do a 24 hour urine test I was like, "This is embarrassing". This last time I was like, "It's for our little one-to make sure he's okay". And now, I'm thinking I should go pro in this. I just try to stay calm and not worry too much. Neither of us have much longer and it will all be worth it when our little ones arrive. :)

I have had high BP and protein in my urine since 31 weeks and have not gone on to develop pre e...so far! I am now on labetalol tablets to manage my BP which seems to be working but my doctors were rubbish and i ended up being taken under a specialist at the hospital via referral from the maternity day assessment center who have been amazing. I also had extra growth scans to make sure the BP isnt affecting babies growth, which it hasnt so in my case i have had a lot of hoops to jump through but so far i have been lucky and my BP has been manageable and protein levels never exceeded +2  x

My doctor has also scheduled an ultrasound for the 18th to check on the growth of our baby. We're hoping everything is good and we can go on to be full term. We want Cooper to be as healthy as possible and to be able to come home ASAP! I know there is no right or wrong bump size during pregnancy but I do feel like he is rather small and isn't growing much. I didn't really start showing until after 20 weeks. If he is small for his age, he's a fighter! He kicks and constantly rolls making my stomach look lopsided. :) I'm loving every moment that he moves/kicks and we hope for the best since I have had no other problems-not even morning sickness. Glad to hear that your pregnancy has gone good since your 31 week mark, not much longer for you to go! I hope your delivery goes smoothly!

33 weeks and feeling dizzy/headaches. I had pre-e last pregnancy around this time, so I'm paranoid as crap. My bp, according to my home machine, is normal. I called my doc today though, and I think they are going to have me come in and do the 24 hr urine test :( I had my son 35 weeks 4 days, so I REALLY want to make it full term with this one. Ah, I'm so worried.

There have been times where my bp reading are normal also. My first 24 hour urine results were around 260 and the second were in the low 300s. I'll find out tomorrow afternoon what my count is on the one I'm doing now. Hopefully your count isn't high. Just remember it's for the best if they have you do a 24 hour test. I know they aren't the funnest. My husband makes fun of me....It's for the little one! Don't let it get you down! I think if we can both make it to at least 37 weeks our babies will be okay! I'll be happy if I get there! I haven't noticed any contractions yet...while on the non-stess test though, they have said that I have had a few but I can't feel them. Being my first pregnancy I don't really know what to look for in a lot of things though...let me know how your results come back if they have you do a test. It's a scary thing not knowing what can happen next with pre-e. I hope for everyone here that has it, that it stays mild and we can all go full term.

ive been having this for the last 3 weeks now. Constantly getting sent off to hospital, did the 24 hour urine collection, still raised bp and protein. But nothing is getting done!

It gets frustrating, but with everything I have been told its all about the bloodwork. We can go fine with rollercoasting bp and protien apparently as long as the protein doesnt get super high and our liver continues to function ok. Perhaps they are just telling me that though to keep me quiet..I have been getting pretty fed up with not really being informed of anything lol x

This happened to me but only 2 days before my due date. I went for a routine GP appointment and my BP was high and protein in my urine. The hospital decided to induce me on my due date as my BP stayed high - it shot up during labour and I was out on pre-eclampsia protocol with medication to lower my BP and magnesium sulphate to avoid fitting. It did work and they still dont know if I actually had pre-e or not. I was monitored constantly for 24 hours afterwards to make sure.

Just got back a little while ago from my appointment-got the results from my 24 hour urine that I turned in this morning. In the last two weeks my levels have gone up nearly 200 points which now makes my levels close to 500. Since I didn't see the doctor today, only the nurse, she said that he wants to get me as close to 35 weeks as possible and deliver. This morning before taking my sample and getting blood work done, I began to feel lightheaded and faint. I mentioned this to this nurse at my appointment and also that while waiting for her that I was super hot and began to see "spots". I have a checkup on Monday with the doctor and will ask for a delivery date and such. I guess we'll be having a baby in the next 2/3 weeks if things don't get worse! I was really hoping we could make it to full term because I want to bring my baby home! It's crazy because I haven't had much swelling and my blood pressures have not got extremely high, it's just my protein count. Good luck to you, Sarahuk. I hope you are able to go full term. Definitely keep an eye on your protein levels. I'm glad your pre-e didn't get bad, HopefulPony. I'm terrified about my little boy and just want him to come home safely. Good luck ladies and keep your eyes opens for any new signs of pre-e. :hugs:

Aww hun..sorry to hear that your levels have risen enough to start looking at induction :( Its definitely the best for you and your little boy though. My sister developed Pre-E very suddenly with my niece and she ended up really sick. So its good that they arent messing you around and are going to take good care of you.

Im sure your little man will be fine. I was told at 34wks I was looking at inducement and they said that baby had a good standing to need less support at that time. So it doesnt mean that he wont go home with you. Can you keep us updated on how you get on hun? x

Ashley im so sorry hun :hugs: i have been keeping everything crossed for you to get to term :hugs: i know its scary to think of bubs coming early but they take excellent care of preemy babies and your lil man will be coming home before you know it :hugs:

My niece was born at 26+4 and was in hospital till she was 3 months but she is now 13yrs and is in accelerated learning for all her classes and to look at her you would never know she was a preemy baby and she has had no health issues at all. I hope this helps you feel a bit less frightened hunni cos i know just how scary it can be having seen my sis go through it :hugs: thinking of you and your lil bubs and praying you can make it through a few more weeks xxxxx

My son was born at 35 weeks 4 days, and was 6 lbs 13 oz!!! He was in the NICU for 11 days, but that was because of his lungs. Hopefully they can give you steroid injections for baby's lungs. But, at 35 weeks, you still have a good chance of taking baby home from the hospital when you go home :) Stay positive!! Prayers your way!

Thanks for all the positive things ladies. It definitely helps to know that he should be okay at 35 weeks. I'll ask about the steriod injections on Monday and see what my doctor says. Maybe he can give us a definite date. That's my only worry-is that his lungs won't be developed. I do think he is going to be rather small also...we have an ultrasound for the 18th to determine his size but I think the pre-e has kept him from growing a lot. It's reassuring each time I feel him kick or turn. It's comforting. I'll keep you ladies updated and will definitely post a picture once our little prince arrives. Thanks so much for all the support and prayers!
