I've posted this in my journal but am hoping to get some answers. I see my Dr on Wednesday to discuss it but I'm pretty anxious to know what's up.

Hubby and I TTC'd for a year and nothing was working. I talked to my Dr. and started linking things together.

So here's what happened when I went in for my scheduled US. I've had previous cysts and they are talking about checking me for Endo.

When I got called back she tried the regular US and couldn't see anything so she told me to pee and she would do it vaginally. As she was looking around she asked if I had more pain toward one side than the other. I said yes, and it was my right side. "No wonder" she said. She went to the left "Nothing over here" back to the right side (I felt some pressure) "everything is on your right side. Both ovaries are over here." Back when I had my Hysterosalpingogram everything was shifted to the right but there was a tube on each side. And back when I was 14 or 15 and had an ovarian cyst, this was never mentioned or looked into so I assume it's a change.

So apparently the tube to the left goes nowhere...?? I don't know. I guess endo can cause things to be shifted. Also both ovaries are poly cystic. It's not the worst she's seen (I guess she was trying to make me feel a little better at this point) but they definantly are. I forgot to ask for a close up to show the poly cysts, but I did ask for one that showed how they were placed, you can still kind of see it in this one. It shows that both ovaries are right by eachother.

She said it looked like I was headed for laproscopy and there was a pretty good chance I had Endo.

Has anyone had this problem with your ovaries being on the same side?? I've never heard of this! Thanks ladies! :flower:

Hi,

I have both ovaries on my left side. I don't know why or how this has happened and I'm worried it will affect my fertility. I have searched the web for this but have found nothing. If u come across any thing please could you let me know?

Thank you.

Chloe89 and Want2Bamommy- I am not a doctor, but I am going through medical school for sonography. From what I know and what my own doctors have told me, a woman's anatomy is not like they show you in those pretty pictures. Almost always (but not all of course) women's ovaries are all over the place! lol

So, having them both on one side, shouldn't be a cause for concern and shouldn't affect your chances of pregnancy. Typically, they are still attached to their own fallopian tubes, unless they are twisted around each other ( which would be found out via Laparoscopy ). If you are really worried about it, have them do the Laparoscopy for further information.

Best of luck to you!!!

Hi

I found out that both my ovaries are on one side and it's very painful. The gynocologist told me that he will do a laparoscopy and that the cause could be from removing my appendix too late and that it gave off a fluid or something that binds the tissue but he is not certain.

Is it possible for me to still have children if they cannot remove it from my uterus.

can someone please help!
