Thought it might be an idea to have a thread like this. I'm hoping to start getting out and about properly with Edward soon, so was wondering if we could start a thread of places that are happy to give hot water to heat bottles :) Save me getting all flustered trying to find somewhere when he starts crying if I'm out

xx

hmm I'm in Canada so a bit different here. We found almost all coffee places were willing to give us cups of hot water (though sometimes we had to pay a minimal charge for it)

I use a crystal bottle warmer, so never had to ask for hot water, but I've seen other Mums asking :) So as far as I know:

Pizza Hut (if they won't give you water, they will offer to heat it for you and ask how long for etc).

Most Tesco and Asda cafe's I've been in have bottle warmers & microwaves

Ikea has both bottle warmers and microwaves (and free baby meals on Tuesdays, including their organic pouches

Debenhams cafe...they have a whole station for doing baby food and bottles!

I dont have a problem here, I usually have my flask with me, but if I need hot water, all coffee shops & restuarants will just provide me with what I want with no charge unless I ask for bottled water.

Starbucks will heat bottles for you (won't give hot water for you to do it yourself though)

Cafes and coffee shops usually do. I never had to ask because I had a thermal bottle warmer which kept the milk at the right temperature

get one of these hun, they are in tesco for a fiver but i would of paid 4 times that to know i can warm it up without having to worry about being told sorry we cant give you hot water - or even worse, i will take it and warm it for you :( never let anyone do that - most of the time you get it back and it would cause serious burns its so overheated lol

debenhams and pizza hut are the only places ive come across most say they wont give me water or heat it for me :hissy:

Most Mothercares and Boots have rooms with bottle warmers in them. I find a lot of family orientated places have microwaves, only on the odd occasion I have been refused hot water x

i know that KFC dont! but they have a sign up saying they dont! to be honest, i thought that most places do.. and they have to clearly say if they dont! most places will warm it for you rather than give you the water though

Thanks everyone. My changing bag has a thermal bit, but I make my bottles in advance and put them in the fridge so all it succeeds in doing is keeping them fridge cold :dohh: lol xx

most places we've been say no hot water or bottle warming! I have had to resort to asking for a pot of tea with the tea bag out!

I bought myself a thermax thermos and haven't looked back! boiling water whenever i need it!

I have heard that, in places like MacDs, the trick is to ask for a cup of hot water for you to drink (yes, there are strange people that drink hot water) or even for you to put a herbal teabag into .... then use that to warm the bottle.

Didn't know Ikea did free baby food on a Tuesday, that settles it, definitely going to Ikea next week!
