bottom lip

Hello all!
My ds is 3, almost 4 days old. I've breastfed before but not had this is, so help, please!!!

Latching on to begin with is fine, but very soon into the feed (literally minutes, his bottom lip is not rolled out. Its just like normal. It seems to happen mostly on the right boob.
Any thoughts?

Hmm... It sounds kind of like a lip tie, but I've never heard of a lip tie on the bottom lip. I had my doc check my little guy's lip because I had a similar thing happening when he was that little, but it was his top lip. She said he had a slight lip tie, but because it wasn't bothering me too much (it hurt a little, but not too much to really interfere with feeding him), and because he was gaining weight, that it was probably best to just leave it alone. It would have cost us a few hundred dollars to get it fixed and we decided it just wasn't worth it.
