Hi all,

I'm popping over from 2nd tri wanting a recommendation for a baby bouncer? There are so many to choose from!

Anyone? :flower:

We got a bright starts elephant march bouncer. It was really cheap and portable. I move it room to room and lo loves playing in it!
We also have a mamas and papas starlight swing which worked better for naps x

Dont bother with a bouncer, you pay £30 odd and they only last for a few months. Have a look at the birth to toddler rockers, they cost a bit more but last a lot longer.

We have the Fisher Price Zoo bouncer: https://www.target.com/p/fisher-pri...2&CPNG=baby&ci_sku=13270052&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw=

We really love it - she's 7.5 months and still bouncing away!

We also have a FP infant to toddler rocker; the thing sucks. She's just now gotten enough body weight to make it rock; the toy bar is WAY too high for a small baby to reach, and the musical toy requires a good deal of strength on the pull to get it to play. Don't recommend it for infants.

I find my LO much prefers bouncer to rocker. The rocker works well for placating my almost 3-year-old though :haha: In terms of rockers, I'd onlly get one with a 5 point harness (like a Bright Starts one) as otherwiuse older babies can chuck themselves out by toppling the rocker.

We have the Fisher Price Miracles & Milestones bounver which I would recommend except I don't think they make it any more :dohh: My friend recently got a very good bouncer though, which I would porbably get if I didn't have mine :haha: I like them both for the same reason - the toy bar doesn't get in the way of picking up baby, which is something I found really annoying with out first bouncer. Anyway, this is the one she has:

Do you mean a door bouncer or a chair?

We have the Tippitoes door bouncer and Aurora loves it! The only thing I don't like about it is that you can't put baby in while it's hanging, you have to take a few minutes to get baby in it properly. If I were to go back and purchase one again I'd probably get one I could set her in like this bouncer, for example: https://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/616PXkUJeXL._AA1500_.jpg That's the Bright Starts door bouncer.

As for the baby chairs, I'd recommend a Bright Starts one as well: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bright-Starts-Infant-Toddler-Rocker/dp/B004TJ5FYE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343395365&sr=8-1
The reason I'd go for this one is because of its safety buckle. The one we got is the Fisher Price newborn-toddler rocker. Now, I think it's a great little chair but now that Aurora's bigger she tries to get over the sides and leans so far forward that she'd fall flat on her face if one of us wasn't right there to catch her. The safety belt only goes around the waist, which isn't sturdy enough for a mobile baby. The first few months this wasn't a problem at all but it has become more so of one with time. The Bright Starts bouncer chair has a waist + shoulder straps.

Hope that helps a bit! :)

Oh and btw we have a graco ziggy zebra swing so I just want the bouncer to be able to take to grandparents houses n stuff really!

Yeah definitely go for an infant to toddler rocker!! they are sturdier and will last much longer!

I have the Bright Starts "Rock in the Park" one and it's fab...was around £50 but will do her for a couple of years. The other one that I like is the fisher price one.

My LO has now discovered that she can rock herself on the kitchen floor! going to have to strap her in soon!

Do they have a vibrate setting on them like bouncers?

Yep! My LO doesn't know what to make of it haha

We got barely any use out of ours. My LO tolerated it for about 2wks, and only 5mins at a time! We have a Mamas&Papas one. If you can, I would wait til your LO is here so you can try them out in one first. I also heard some babies like swinging and others like bouncing, we didn't have a swing though so dunno!

we have the fisher price rocker that was given to us. lo is nearly 4 months and can only just now sit up in it to plar with the toys. it is nice for him to snooze in sometimes and will still be good when he is bigger. at my mums we have the cheapest bouncer out of the argos catalogue and that is way more fun for him but no head hugger so not the best for a newborn. id recomment a bouncer with a headhugger on it

sorry for one handed typing

I second the tiny love gymbini bouncer chair.

My lo has been in it since about 2 months and we still use it now. It's supportive and the bars aren't in front so it's easy to get her in and out. Also very portable, the bars easily clip off and on, we even took it on holiday with us no problem. Great purchase for us!
