Just curious what gender your prem babies are and why?

Both my lo's are boys as is bump severe pre-e with no2 just wondering if things would have been different if I had a girl  xx

I've had one of each :)

Pre-e signs at 28weeks with my son, managed till 36weeks, confirmed pre-e, induced normal delivery.

Pre-e signs at 24weeks with my daughter, managed but became severe pre-e at 33weeks emcs under GA.

Worse for me with my daughter. x

My daughter was born at 34+4 completely without warning! Textbook pregnancy and everything! X

All my friends who had pre-e funnily enough all have girls, from what I can think of!

mine was a boy and he was a EMCS @ 32 weeks to severe Pre-e with HELLP

I hated that from the first week when he was very very poorly, the nurses kept saying to us 'your only having these problems because he is a boy, if he had been a girl he wouldn't have had any problems from being preemie' ......... REALLY what I needed to hear!

As you know, iv had severe pre-e with both my boy and my girl. personally, I think if you're going to get it with a pregnancy, then it is in the pipeline from conception. I had a consultant appt at 19 weeks with Jude and I told her then I knew the baby wouldn't go to term. I didn't feel 'right' like I had when I had Bert. she told me then that it was impossible to know that this early on.

my pre-e started at 27 weeks this time and he was born at 31. xx

Severe pre-e with Alexander x

Donna I always thought Bert's full name was Bertram not Albert where did I get that from lol :dohh:

My consultant told me that if your going to get pre-e, it is determined between 16 & 18 weeks (which is why they start aspirin before this), it is to do with the connections the placenta makes to the uterus wall at this stage that determines if you will or won't get it and the aspirin can help fuse these connection better.

I hate the not knowing, I am so scared of it happening again this time

:hugs: buttonnose I know exactly how you feel this is my 3rd baby pre-e followed by severe pre-e so far so good this time but it kicks in around 27-29 weeks for me so crossing everything I get by 30 weeks symptom free and ill be able to relax a little it's the not knowing that gets me, daycare tomo for the dreaded GTT test just another complication to throw in the mix xx

I have a little girl born at 28weeks. I was really ill with pre-e. Had steriod injections and had to have emergency c section 2 days later as I couldnt feel my legs and couldn't stop shaking. She was in neo natal for 9weeks. Been home for 3 weeks. Shes on no oxgyen and is doin well. We had ups and downs and she had to have 2 blood transfusions. But im so glad to have her home now.

I dont think gender has anything to do with prem babies. Its just one of them things. We just have to be strong for them.

I had severe pre-e discovered at 25 weeks and Sophie was born 27 weeks x

Iugr with both - Baby girl was too small to be born so had to wait for her to pass away. Born at 29 weeks weighing 1lb.

Baby boy elcs 33weeks weighed 3lb 11oz spent 16days in nicu - doing fantastic!

Congrats on your new blue bump x
