Okay, don't laugh, I know I have weird taste!

I'm absolutely obsessed at the moment with the name Wolfgäng, nn. Wolfie, for a baby boy. Is it totally unusable for a first name? I was thinking it might make a good middle name and we can still use the nickname, as we often call LO by his middle name anyway, so same pattern.

What names, either as first names with Wolfgäng in the middle, or as middle names go best? One or two middle names.

My favourites:
Jasper
Felix
Bruno
Vyvyan (my grandpa's name)

Only as middle names:
Rudolf
Alfie
Wallace
Humphrey
Alexander
William

Or any similar names! I like quite eclectic but a little bit posh names.

Argh I love it! I'd be too scared to use it though as I don't think I'd make a child who could pull Wolfie off. I'd definitely use it as a middle name and nickname though!
From your list I think Jasper sounds best as a first name. I'd probably stick to 1 middle name with such a statement name as Wolfgang, but if you go for a 2nd I think Alexander flows well. Some other suggestions which I think are in the same vein (be kind, most of them are on my own list :haha:):
Wilfred (nn Wilf)
Rupert
Rafferty
Cedric
Herbert (I love Herb/Bertie :cloud9:)
Bernard
Barnaby
August
Walter (Walt is cute!)
Emory
Claus

I love those! OH has vetoed all of my favourites from that list (Claus, Bernard, Barnaby, Rupert) already! Definitely similar taste. Yeah I do love Jasper!

I've noticed name suggestions from you before and loved them, I think I'll be hitting you up for ideas when I have my 3rd LO :haha:

How about these?

Claude
Edgar
Edmund
Edwin
Magnus
Felix
Herschel
Marwell
Ernest
Weston
Earl
Franklin
Verne
Marlowe
Rupert
Victor

I love:

Vivian Wolfgang - I love Vivian for a boy but without the 'y's
and
Jasper Wolfgang - this might be more 'normal' and professional now a days

I'd spell it with the 'y's because that's how it's spelt in my family and it's an old family name. Vivian looks feminine to me.

My BFFs dad's name is Wolfgang. It's awesome and everyone else thinks so. =) He'll be the coolest kid in class. We kind of pronounce it more "Vulf-gange", rather than the super American "Wolf - gang".

I think the German name Wolfgang is usually without the umlaut?
How would you pronounce it?
Personally, I don't think I'd go for it, but it's up to you ultimately.

I would disagree, despite knowing female Vivian's I think its clearly male and was originally masculine like other famously feminized names (Allison for example)

Vivienne is the feminine version imo

I think Wolfgang is a great name for a little boy and love the nn Wolfe (or just Wolf). For some reason, I'm gravitating toward alliteration for the middle name. I think Wolfgang Wallace is my fav, with William second.
