So baby is breach and has been since forever. But the catch is her legs. They are straight out and up by her head. Not the typical "fetal" position with them bent up. I have a hunch that's why she hasn't turned and why she's just not turning no matter what position I put myself into. I'm gonna keep trying of course but has anyone else had a baby in such a position? What were your experiences? And my other worry - how is this position going to affect her hips?!

My daughter was in this position and I think that's why she didn't turn either. Her hips were checked a couple of times after she was born and she had an x-ray when she was about 4 months.
When she was a newborn, her legs kept trying to get back up around her ears whenever we undressed her but otherwise we didn't have any problems. x

Pink so you delivered your little girl breech?! I doubt they'd let me even try. Was it a difficult labor? What about delivery? Glad to hear it didn't really affect her hips much.

I did deliver her breech, after going into labour the day before my planned section. The labour was ok-lasted about 30hrs or so but went from 1cm-fully dilated in about 5 hours. I had gas and air and an episiotomy for delivery and the pushing stage was just over an hour x

My baby is in this position now and has been since 20 weeks. My doctor calls it frank breech position. Im scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks so next monday! Hope she wont be stuck like that! :)

My little boy is in that position. His feet are way over his head! I am having twins and my girl who is baby A is in the traditional breech position and my boy has IUGR and so we are doing a c-section because of that even if A flips so I am not trying anything to flip them but it sure does look uncomfortable having his feet up like that!

Yes my LO was in this position, undetected at 40+13 so had a c section. He came out totally bent in half with his feet up by his nose! He was absolutely fine though with no hip problems. Good luck!

My little one was in the same position up until 37 weeks, I had an ECV to turn him which was successful and he's now head down ready and waiting lol x

Have you checked out spinningbabies.com?

Good luck girls :)

my LO was confirmed in this position at 36 weeks. I tried the stuff off spinning babies, took some homeopathics, and had the Websters technique done 3 times at the chiropractor. then at 37ish weeks I had a successful ECV. the procedure itself took about 2 minutes, it wasn't painful, just felt squished. I was at the hospital that day for a total of about 7 hours tho as the OB was late getting to me and then I had to stay about 3-4 hours after on fetal monitoring. :flower:

I have been doing the positions for turning a breach baby from spinning babies for a while. She turns to almost transverse but never goes any further and then comes back up. My chiropractor is going to try the Webster maneuver on me next week when I see him too. I have decided I won't try an ECV with this one (I did with my son, it was unsuccessful). But one of my doctors said they wouldn't do it anyway, because I have had a previous c-section.

Plus I was talking to one of my sister's friends and she said her last baby was the same way and didn't want to turn either. If she's not turning with the spinning babies positions or the chiro by my next ultrasound (in about 4 weeks) I think I'm going to just accept I'm going to have a repeat c-section and just get it scheduled.

My baby is in exactly this position too, i hasve read/heard that it IS that most favourable breech position to be in. I was having a ELCS anyway so the turning part isnt too much of an issue for me however this discomfort I am in as a result of baby lying this way is immence, im in so much pain!
