ahhhhhhh... this is the life - alcohol, chocolate, cheesecake, bacon and egg sarnies xx

i think each to there own you should do what works best for you x

my personal experience is this..

i tried to bf luisa - she was jaundice and slept 23 hours a day for the first 2 days! her blood sugar dropped and i was advised to express.. - she just wouldnt latch..
i saw mw after mw, bf support worker etc and nothing worked..

i exclusivley expressed for 4 weeks and ended up with pnd - the diagnosis was that it was due to 'faliure to bf' i was so cut up about not being able to feed her rarely left the house as i was having to pump every 3- 4 hours and needed everything seterile..

so this time round i will give bf my best shot - will insist on staying in hospital until baby has latched on more than once.. (luisa did wen first born for 5 mins.. she didnt feed again and we was discharged 10 hours later)

however if for what ever reason bfing doesnt work out then me and oh have agreed i will not stress over it - certainly will not exclusivly pump for more than a few days and will just move onto to formula

xx

well ladies i had my chinese 2night, and im still hungry, DH did get me sum chocolate cake tho mmmmm....

I breastfeed and I bottle feed expressed breastmilk, so bottle feeding can go both ways.

Breastfeeding is great, because it is free. It's technically the best thing you can give to your baby. Breastfeeding involves no bottles so you don't have to worry about warming milk up at night, washing bottles and sterilizing. Breastfeeding is really hard and sometimes can be impossible for women if they've experienced a traumatic birth. It's very very hard in the beginning because it can be so tiring taking care of a newborn and if you breastfeed it feels like they are attached to you 24/7. But it does get easier the longer you do it! Now for me it's just a routine, but I also pump while I'm at work and he takes bottles.

Formula feeding is the best alternative to breastfeeding. I don't really know any pros because you can give bottles if you're too shy to breastfeed in public, but you can do that with breastmilk as well. A disadvantage would be that it's sooo expensive. I save a lot of $$$ breastfeeding!! :flower:
