Breastfed baby with sweet, slightly sour milk smelling breath, is that normal?

My DS is 9 weeks and EBF he has a strong sweet/sour milk smelling breath. I only notice it if he is close to my face but I wonder if it is normal?

He has thrush in his mouth that we are treating with bi carbonate of soda, the dr said that should work and he wont need any other medicine, maybe the thrush is causing the smell?

Any experience of this sort of smell?

Not much help here but i would hazzard a guess at the thrush and also, breastmilk is quite sweet anyway so that might be the sweet part and milk goes sour with stomache acid so maybe when he burps or spits up its leaving the sour smell in his mouth ?

My LO has a sweet smell to his breath after feeding but turns sour after he's burped/sick. I think it's normal x

My babies' breath smelled like what I can only describe as a vanilla scented crayon when they were younger and EBF, slightly waxy/sour but vanilla and sweet at the same time xx

ETA: thrush breath smells repugnant like yeasty and rancid. My second eldest had oral thrush when he was five following a nasty bout of viral illness. When my babies have had oral thrush it was similar but nowhere near as bad.

I love baby breastmilk breath! It smells sweet and milky. When my eldest had a viral hand foot and mouth infection it smelt foul. If it is an unpleasant smell, I would guess it could be the thrush. Unless its sicky breath, it should smell nice... In my experience only!!

I love milk breath too! It smells to me like melted ice cream
