My son is almost 14 months. He nurses on demand day/night. He has never had cows milk from a bottle/sippy cup but does eat yogurt and cheese. I would say he has 3-4 good long nursing sessions a day plus some days he has lots of little ones too. I'm assuming he is getting enough milk and doesn't need to supplement with cows milk?

I go back and forth on night weaning. If I do, how do I know that he is getting what he needs from me? At what point do I need to supplement? I work 3 overnights a week and pump to leave bottles while I am gone. I consistently bring home 8-10 ounces my nights at work. I know pumping output isn't exactly an indication of my supply, but I would assume this is at least half of what he needs everyday. If I night wean, I'm afraid he won't be getting enough milk.

I think that sound fine. Guideline say (or at least it did when my 2 eldest were that age) 20oz of dairy per day, thats milk and food dairy products combined. Your milk has more of what he needs than cows milk does so I wouldn't worry about supplementing with cows milk. As for night weaning meaning he gets less of your milk, find ways of adding it into his food to compensate. Make mashed potato or cheesy pasta sauce with milk in to up his milk intake. If he has things like porridge, wheetabix etc for breakfast, milk added to that all counts too.

At fourteen months you can definitely night wean. I would but it is up to you. He will be fine. You do not need to supplement with cows milk.
