Breastfeeding Petition PLEASE SIGN!

The government are proposing to protect the rights of mothers to breastfeed
in public and make it an offence to interfere with that right.

However the right is only effective until the baby is 6 months old.

WHO say that mothers should breastfeed for the first 2 years as a minimum.

There are concerns in some quarters that the new legislation might result in
mothers being prosecuted for indecency if they breast feed older children in
public.

The above link is a petition to have the age raised. Lets see if they really
do take these petitions seriously.

I only found out last week that there's an age limit on the Scottish law - two years old! Why do they feel the need to put an age limit on at all?

When my brother was at school around 6 yrs old this woman used to come to the school gate on breaks and lunch and stick her boob through the fence and breastfeed her kids who were 6 and 10 i think! Now to me thats going too far!

Iam going to breastfeed but i dont want to breastfeed in public i would rather express the milk and use a bottle, dont ask me why maybe it is something to do with the way breastfeeding in public has been treated.

anybody who sees sth else than feeding a child in it, is a paedophile anyway, no matter what age the baby/child is!!!

I assume it has to do with politics, as they do not want the formula industrie to go bankrupt!

Thanks for linking that, I was absolutely outraged when I read about the 6 month age limit last week on the news. It's ridiculous, a baby doesn't suddenly stop needing milk when out and about at the magical age of 6 months! I can understand why people might not want to see older children being breastfed in public, but as you said, the World Health Organisation actually recommends breastfeeding until at least the age of 2. Stupid!

signed! a woman should have the right to breastfeed where and when she wants regardless of child's age (well, up to 2 years). i think breastfeeding is beautiful and best for baby. there is nothing offensive about breastfeeding.

It's bad enough they say only upto 2 years... WHO states a minimum of two years.... I believe the average age that breastfeeding stops is 4 years, which means half the world stops before then, and half after then!

It's Westernization gone wrong...

I've posted this petition on a forum, which is for the german community in UK!

guys, you can't believe what opinions people have about breastfeeding in public and all babies can have a bottle when out and about!

and of course those opinions came from men and those women without children, and as well they had their mouth widest open!!!

they didn't stop, although I pointed out three times, that the thread is in the section "family" and I wanted to reach mothers and families!

proof enough for me again, why I had to emigrate, sometimes I do not have a good opinion about my own folks!

the discussion went on and on, going nowhere, that at the end a mod closed the thread

anyway, hopefully I could achieve to reach as many people as possible, who have signed!

Youngest is 15 months and noy showing any signs of giving up soon
