Breastfeeding Photo's

This is of us when she first started BFing. I do not have any updated pictures, will try to get one sometime. This was about 2-3 weeks ago. My baby is a preemie still in the NICU.

She had her best breastfeeding time yet! A whole 20 minutes. Our little champion <3. She did not even need any supplementing through the tube!

Well done kiwiberry. It's an even more difficult start to the breastfeeding journey when you have a preemie. What a fabulous job you're both doing. You'll be home in no time <3

Violet is 2, but has been wanting to act like a little baby.

Thank you so much! :hugs:

That is so very true. This is my first baby so i have nothing to compare it to but so far the journey has been long and hard. She is doing wonderful though and knows exactly what mommy's boobs are for lol. Just waiting on her to build up that strength. They say it will "click" overnight. I am hoping they are right!

I am pretty much married to my pump, I can't wait for her to finally be home and for me to finally not have to use that pump in place of my baby anymore.

Oh Kiwiberry you've no idea what an amazing thing you're achieving, and your first baby, you should be soo incredibly proud of yourself. My last two of 4 were preemies and especially my 3rd as we were both critically ill at birth was hard work. I used a double electric pump from thd hospital and spent many hrs crying looking at a photo of my little baby and having 2 suction cups stuck to my boobs!! You are going to swinging from the chandeliers with joy when you're all home together and you never have to use those pumps again x

Hadn't taken a nursing picture in a very long time. This is a bittersweet one- My son is now 17.5 months old, and I am 6 months pregnant and no longer producing more than a few drops of colostrum, so I know our nursing relationship is coming to a close. But how I treasure the sweet, quiet moments still:)

you have done really nice job ... you are blessed you are breastfeeding ... i have no chance atleast once for my first baby

Baby Harrison was born 2 days ago on 18th December & this was his first feed <3

I struggled to BF my daughter due to her NICU stay the first few days but made it to 6 weeks.

This time around I feel A LOT more positive, he is already feeding like a champ & has got a great latch. We just need to figure out a couple positions which are more comfortable.

Really looking forward to this BFing journey. X

Great job Lucy!

Being in the NICU is hard, my baby is going on 2 1/2 - 3 months in the NICU. So far she has done great on breastfeeding. I don't get a lot of chances to practice with her but she is latching well and taking at least 1/2-3/4 of her feed when she does breastfeed. I plan to get way more practice when she comes home. I know she can pick it up quickly once I get to feed her all the time.

Loving all of your pictures, ladies! My son was born yesterday at 35+2 and is struggling with his latch. I keep coming back to this thread every time I question whether I should give up pumping and just switch to formula. Hopefully I'll be able to post my own pictures here eventually. X

Don't give up mama!! It is hard having a baby born early and trying to breastfeed but you can do it!!! Give your baby some time and I am sure he will surprise you!!!

:hugs: :hugs:

You can do it Kirsty ... we've had a lot of difficulties (due to an undiagnosed posterior tongue tie and a birth injury) and I nearly gave up so many times, but didn't and now at five months, following cranial osteopathic treatment, tongue tie revision and a lot of perseverance, things are finally working. Keep going as long as you can ... his latch will likely improve as he gets bigger and with practice. :flower:

Finally decided to post a picture...however she didn't want me to take it! :haha: My sweet Emilee will be 7 months next week on the 13th which is also my 34th birthday!!! :happydance:
