Breastfeeding support worker here to help

Remember as well, that BF babies don't put on weight in the same way that bottle fed babies do. Kaya would go for a while without putting on any weight before suddenly putting on loads almost overnight. As long as you LO seems happy in themselves and is getting plenty of wet and dirty nappies they should be fine.

YES.

It is not uncommon for babies to plateau. In fact mine has plateaued for the last two weeks after growing about .5 lbs a week.

I imagine we'll have another growth spurt here in a week or two and more weight gain.

Sam was the same with his weight gain - some weeks he'd gain almost nothing, and some he'd gain loads. And we're still doing ok at 5 months :D

Bit late, but just wanted to say :hi: to Claire the original poster. I too am a breastfeeding supporter and about to embark on my counsellor training! Its actually amazing as to how much there is to learn, but its probably the most fulfilling thing I've ever done bar being a mum! Am also still bf at 17 month as well as trying for number 2!

I'm not here so much at the mo as I'm in the process of setting up a local breastfeeding support group.....and the challenges I'm facing are incredible!

Good luck with your midwifery training too....thats a real challenge I believe! Enjoy!
