Ok I just want to start off by saying I give all you breastfeeders out there so much credit!!!! I did it for a week and it didn't work out for me :( But I'm glad I tried!

What I do now is use my breast pump and pump atleast 4-5 bottles a day of 4 oz. BUT... it;s starting to wear me down and my nipples couldn't hurt MORE!!!! I want to be done breast pumping but its such a nice relief for my boobs!! I notice when I'm done they feel somewhat "Empty" !!! ... But I know the milk just keeps coming in. I do give my son formula every once in a while.. but I'm starting not to feel as bad anymore... anyway...

Any ideas on how to help my boob relief with out breast pump??? Is anyone else having this problem???:hissy:

I think if you only express enough to relieve the "full" feeling but dont empty them then your body starts producing less, eventually stopping

Yes.

You can have a warm bath, or shower, warm compresses, cabbage leaves etc to help with the engorgement until you dry up.

If your using a Medela pump I would get bigger phalanges (the cups) so your nipples wont hurt and only pump for like five minutes every few hours to give you some relief until you milk dries up.

Thank you everyone!... But you guys are all saying when the milk dries up... so it DOES dry up eventually right??? The question is now... when???

I guess you just have to ride it out hun, sorry :( Its not nice.. Ive been doing it for 2 weeks now and Im starting to feel a bit less sore so hopefully it wont be too much longer for you.

xxx
