Bridesmaid dress colour - help!

I have had to buy one adult bridesmaid dress before the other, because one of my friends is plus-sized and it is not easy to find suitable dresses that she is ok wearing. I like it, it is satiny and dusty pink (see attached).

In case of me not being able to find an off-the-peg dress in that colour for my other friend, what colour would look ok with this? My own dress is ivory with a lace overlay.

Any suggestions extremely welcome, as I have 7 weeks and 6 days left to find something...

Darker purples or really light browns would go with it I think.

i agree with lauren-kate dark purple would look nice or maybe like a silvery colour?! all my bridesmaids wernt in the same dresses mainly due too chief bridesmaid beeing plus size heres the best photo i can find of them all together at the moment (awful one of me like!)

thanks ladies. I was thinking a darker purple or a silver might be nice. I'll have a look about, bit wary of ordering anything without having seen the pink dress in person, hope it turns up soon.

Was also wondering though - how possible would it be to alter that pink dress? It is available from a size 16 and my other bridesmaid is a 12-14 (I am fairly sure, she wouldn't be a 10). It would only be in the bodice since length wouldn't be an issue, and it's not fitted in the hips. I know less than nothing about dressmaking so I really have no idea if it'd be possible.

Any ideas?

I think it would be possible. Maybe you could take the bigger one to a dressmaker and see what they think?

I emailed my smaller bridesmaid with the pic and she said to order the dress in a 16. she is about a 12-14 herself, so hopefully it won't require major reconstruction to make it fit ok!

fingers crossed tightly... this will be a big stress off my mind if it works out...
