If you're into crafts of any kind everyone could get something "upcycled" as their gift?

e.g.
A Jewellery box made from 3 old books? books cost about £1.50 in charity shop then all pages glued and carved out to make the box. sounds odd but looks completely fabulous (and unique!)!

keep an eye on the threads here too as people are already posting some fab offers! A photo book from boots - free, pay only postage @ £3.99

im currently trying to come up with ideas as well so will be watching this thread

We are on a tight budget and have done well on local selling site on Facebook, eBay and car boot sales.

Car boot sales were the best, we got him a toddle truck for £2, a My First Tigger for 50p (looked new), a Bounce and Spin Zebra for £10, shape sorter for £1.50, ball popping toy for £2 and a vTech phone toy for £2.

We managed to get bargain clothes and toys for now, his birthday and Christmas.

Charity shops are also worth a look, we recently got him a talking truck toy for £1 which he is obsessed with!

I have a mate who belives in the supernatural so this year as a joke I'm giving her a ghost in a jar...
so
a empty jar with a label on it reading....

WARNING CONTAINS GHOST PLEASE FEED TWICE A WEEK ...

free gift and funny I think she will like it ...
you can do many different idears

hug in a jar
fairy ... *add glitter*
so on

I've found quite a few cheap gift ideas, some are to be made some are v.cheap toy buy/assemble.

Easy and cheap things to make or buy
More!

It obviously depends on what sort of person you're buying/making for but some of these are so inexpensive, creative, personal and meaningful!

I think I'm going to have a go at this as well, couldn't be simpler and can get my children involved in the making!
Homemade personal chocolate slabs

Hope these links help someone! :flower:

1 thing i did last year was a pot of gold - buy a china bowl in £1 shop, get an assortment of "gold" sweets from pic n mix, add either £1 coin or scratch card, cover in gold paper/net etc and add this verse -

Pot of Gold

Here’s a little pot of gold,
A festive nibble too,
I hope that it will make,
All of your dreams come true,
Have a very Merry Christmas,
From Us to You

i didnt add the scratch cards or money for kids teachers (they earn more than me) and i put them in a "shot glass size cup" from £1 shop (set of 4), so you can amend. xxx

I'm buying everyone a personality suited mug. And filling it with sweets wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon and bow around the top. Goes for kids and adults like OH's sisters.

Only people we're spending real money on is OH's parents, my parents and Liam.

god dam money lol you dont need money to be happy I so over being broke. . . I would do anything to keep my familey happy aka daz and charlie. I have now made 6 cards everyone keeps saying why not print them out I could cn but its not as fun or as rewarding and people will then know there is a personal touch to them lol. Just wish I had more hands. . .

with regards to cards, last yr £1 shop had 10 blank photo frame cards - insert own photo.... well it was card cum present for the family as they had a pic of my boys that they could keep.

ahhhh, i love home made things, they're more personal..

maybe things like home-made hairbands..
or things you have at home that you don't need, you could maybe personalise them and make them different and give them to people..
if you can knit or sew, maybe knitt or sew something for people, for christmas things like scarves are good! don't take too long and you pay like £1 for wool and max £2.50 for needles..

or maybe you might be able to sell anything you don't want any more maybe on here or ebay or facebook, and raise some money to help buy things to make?

poundshops and 99p stores, charity shop, ask people if they have anything they don't want!!
have a look on places like freegle, or maybe do something nice for people..

like for OH, you could, make soemthing nice to eat, put it out on your living room floor (as can be a bit chilly at that time of year).. and have a little indoor picnic as a surprise.. it's a nice gesture that won't be forgotten!! :)

arrange things for people to do, like young children maybe take them to the farm or something? - they'll probably really enjoy that!
xx
