broken cooker?

We have a cooker which is gas,well,the oven is electric i think and the hob is gas.

just gone to turn on a ring to cook tea and there is no gas coming through

we cant have been cut off cos the heating is working

any ideas what could be wrong?

does it have a glass cover that you lift up to get to the hob? If so then there is a safety cut out and the gas won't come on unless the cover is lifted all the way back.

no cover on there

i just know it will be something stupid and ill look like a total numpty when OH gets home but up to know i havnt figured it out

are the rings on properly..
OH has a habit of knocking them off when he cleans the cooker & gas doesnt come out if they arnt on..

OH came home and they were working fine....

I swear im getting more stupid as the days go on
