brownish blood discharge @ 14 weeks... help please

Hi Everyone,

have just got bk from work and been for a wee, when i wiped there was some browny coloured blood on the paper, not a huge amount but enough to get me worried. was just wondering if anyone had any advice or experience of this kind of thing.

I had some bleeding at 13+6. I made a dr's appointment and they sent me for a scan at maternity (rather than EPAU) the same day. Everything was ok and the lady who did the scan said they looked for bleeding around he placenta and there wasn't any.

I hope all is ok

If you are worried then id phone the midwife or hospital, its brown which is a good sign. Try not to worry too much unless it turns red, gets heavier or is accompanied by cramps. I hope all is well, make sure you get plenty of rest . xx

I had brown discharge on and off about 5 or 6 times between weeks 14 and 18 and then it miraculously went. Brown blood is old blood so please dont worry. My MW said it could just be the last of the cycle expelling itself. Its very scary but Im 23+3 now and everything is fine, Im sure it will be with you

aww hun i know its SO stressfull. At 13 + 2 i had blood lots of it and i rushed to hospital and they refused to give me a scan until the next day, but told me to expect the worst. It was a few days after my scan and at the time everything was fine with bubba. obviously we were beside ourselves but at the scan we discovered the baby was okay! There was no explanation for the blood all they could suggest was that it was left over from my period before i was pregnant. i got some brown spotting the next day but it went away. They just recommended i relax for a day or two which you probably should for peace of mind! See your doc then put your feet up!!

I had this at about 6 weeks and again about 10 weeks. I would always advise telling your GP about it. They'll probably send you for a scan to make sure all is ok. Better to be safe than sorry. Worked out ok for us, the brown stuff stopped after the 10 week time.

I had brown discharge before 13 weeks a couple times and was really worried, but then it just went away, doctor also could not find anything wrong with me or the baby. If you are sexually active with your OH that could be the explanation too as it can burst some capilary hence minor bleeding, so don't worry but do get it checked out! Hugs

I have been having brown spotting now for about 2 weeks ( I am alomost 16 weeks) with no explanation. I have been checked out by the hospital as well as my Dr and everything looks OK with the baby which is a relief.

Please try not to worry, I know it is hard not to! But sometimes this happens and everything is still OK!
