ive been reading a lot about this new way to track labour progression as opposed to the more invasive way to check dialation.

""The best way to describe this is, looking at the anus, a purple line will appear and, throughout labor, move up the natal cleft (butt crack for us laypeople)""

this may be tmi but i have been keeping an eye on this area the last few days and today i deffinatly see a redish or purple line reaching about half way to the top of the crack. ive been having mild contractions all day that feel much different than what ive experienced the last few days.

i just wonder what the chances are that this method of checking is sufficient.

ive tried checking internaly but have had zero luck in reaching the full cervix, to me it felt about 3cm dialated yesterday evening. not sure since i am not a dr and couldnt reach comfortably enough to say yes or no.

i do hope labour is comming :)

13 days are left on my ticker <3 i would be extatic to go into labour any time :)

Oh this is interesting! I've never heard this before. Interested to see the responses.

this is very intriguing to me- I heard about it recently, but I don't know much of anything about it. I haven't checked as I'm just now 36 weeks, but I can't figure out how I would even be able to see anything  haha, I can't imagine even with using mirrors I could see anything!

I know, I wish I could see! Haha, I suppose we could ask our husbands...hehehe

I just wanted to say - I had this at the end of my pregnancy and I wasn't dilated. And as a matter of fact, I have it right now and I'm not even pregnant :) So I wouldn't put much stock in to this theory :winkwink:

Good luck, hope it isn't much longer for you x

my midwife told me about this, apparently they use this and another external sign mostly in my area, especially for water births.

i almost want to take pics of it as i go through active labour. lol.
just to see if its true, like do a before during and after. hmm. i wonder if my oh would go for it. hahah.

i figure its a bust though since i feel fine today as compaired to all day yesterday.
