Burning candles while pregnant?

I've heard that burning candles while pregnant is a no-no. Has anyone else heard this? What is the reason behind it?

I think it's just the smoke / chemicals that come from it. I can't imagine it would be very bad though. I think it's more about kerosene candles and houses purely light by candles etc.

I haven't heard this but I could not stand the smell of burning candles when I was in my first trimester...even worse if they were blown out, ICK!

It depends what type of candle. If they are natural soy, wax, etc they are safe. All other type of candles are not recommended. Then again, those types of candles are not recommended anyways, as they are artificially-made.
