Well, let me start by saying my body is odd.

In January, I noticed a 'rash' that looked like ringworm on my breast. So I started ringworm treated with otc meds. It changed a bit. Then I had the same thing IN my belly button (though it looked like the pink part of the first and not the ringworm design). Neither itch, hurt, have bumps, are raised, or anything. They're just there.

Two days ago, I was sick with what seemed like the flu. Ever since, I've had a butterfly rash on my nose and cheeks. Again, not raised, not painful or itchy, no bumps, etc.

Any ideas?? Only other symptoms are headaches.

I did start a new medication for depression, but it's been a week since I started.

Butterfly rash is a classic symptom of lupus (SLE), have you been to the doctors with it?

Not yet. Calling around for a doctor tomorrow.

It comes and goes. It's usually faded in the morning, then gets worse throughout the day. It also appeared on my chest last night, but is gone today.

I'm wondering if it may just be rosacea. So odd. I'll update after I see a doctor. Obviously, I'm really hoping it's not lupus.

Butterfly rash is classic lupus. Do you have any of the other symptoms ? It's a simple bloo test to check for lupus .

No, I had no other symptoms. Only redness.

But I just got back from the doctor annnd

the rashes on my chest and belly button are a form of eczema and the face one is another form called seborrhoeic dermatitis. Gave me some cream and they should show improvement within a week. If not, call him and we will try something more aggressive.

Also, calling me into a nose, ear, and throat specialist ASAP because my uvula keeps swelling up. So they are getting me an appointment today. :)

sounds like lupus to me. I hope your dr is correct, that it is just harmless thing, as lupus is great at hiding.

Well, I do know to be diagnosed you have to have 4 of 11 things for Lupus. Right now, I only have the one. Plus, it started to expand more toward my mouth, so it is no longer a butterfly formation. Which it is pretty rare to have a malar (lupus) rash go past your 'smile lines', which mine has.

So I doubt it's lupus. Yes, I'm tired. But that's because I spend all day choking on my uvula lol. Otherwise, I have energy. No swelling anywhere. Etc.

Thanks for the concern though.
