Im 15 weeks tommorow and i feel ever so uncomfortable in my clothes...im literally bulging out of them! Im sure people must think im in denial about my weight

So the question is....is it too soon to get maternity clothes? Should i just get the next size up?

What did you do/intend to do? xx

maternity fit better. If you go up a bigger size in pants for example they will be extremely baggy and will not look right. I know, I tried that with dd.

I could see getting another size up if you were earlier on, but since you will probably pop sooner rather than later maternity probably makes more sense. Otherwise you will need to keep replacing things wear as maternity is designed to give you growing room. And maternity pants are so comfy ;)

I tried buying a size bigger thinking it would fit me until bub was born, fraid not!! I'm giving in and buying maternity jeans this weekend. Comfort over fashion oh how times have changed haha xx

I bought the next size up for work pants and for every day lounge pants. I agree that they are longer and baggy but for their purpose they will do. Jeans I have got maternity, they fit so well. I've had to go into maternity tops at 21 weeks, they fit much better (v flattering too!). I think when it comes to a winter coat I will be buying a cheap one a few sizes up as I refuse to pay ridiculous prices for a maternity coat!!

I got into maternity at 13 weeks when I popped. It's a lot more comfortable!

I bought a size bigger in trousers anyway...n they were tooo big ..weird...so id stick with maternity...i think you can get away with bigger tops tho...in material like jersey or viscose...

I bought a size bigger hoping for the best ... Total waste of money, the clothes don't fit right anywhere else. My leggings, tights, jeans, even pants now fall down too low thanks to my bump and are really tight. I'd definitely buy maternity!

Since my bump came late in my first pregnancy, and it was winter, I only bought maternity leggings and just wore long, baggy jumpers with some stretch to them. I got a waistband extender for my jeans which worked fine so never had to buy maternity jeans. I was a little limited in what I could wear though! Anyway I will probably do the same this time unless I start getting huge anytime soon, because I don't really have the money to buy a load of maternity stuff and they don't usually go down small enough for me to fit well on top.

For jeans and stuff i bough maternity but i also bought a size bigger in nice stretch leggings and stretch tops that did fit fist time round until ds was born.... Sadly those same stretchy items already nippy at the waist this time round.

I bough 2 long jumpers too that are 2 sizes bigger and soooo soft and warm

Definitely maternity. They are much more flattering. I find i look more "pregnant" in maternity wear rather than just fat, which is good in the early days when the "bump" isnt obvious enough to be pregnancy related!

I would also suggest maternity clothes. They are designed to fit properly. I think going up sizes could make someone look frumpy, not pregnant. Just look for some sales and clearance. Summer stuff is cheap now, but a few short sleeved tops and a few cardigans to throw over them, un buttoned. You can always wear the cardigans after baby is born.

Yes I couldn't agree more with bunnikins. I still have one pair of jeans I "can" wear but when I do I just look fat. in maternity clothes I actually look pregnant. This is #2 for me so I'm 15 1/2 weeks and look super pregnant. No denying! Hahaha. Maternity clothes are longer and just fit SO much better! Drives me nuts when I see a girl wearing a shirt that's clearly not maternity and her belly is hanging out the bottom! Hahaha. Just buy mat clothes you'll be so much happier and so much more comfortable!

I'd go with maternity clothes  they're a much better fit than just buying a bigger size of regular clothes and most of them "expand" with your bump! I bought a couple of pair of maternity jeans and shirts around 14 weeks and I still wear the jeans! I've only recently had to buy a couple of larger maternity shirts for my big bump.

Haha I think I'm the only one who thinks opposite!

Im 22 weeks now and still do not own a single item of maternity clothing, I was a size 12-14 pre pregnancy depending on the shop and I've bought 2 pairs of size 16 skinny jeans from primark and one 'boyfriend' cut from TK Maxx and about 10 tshirts ranging in size between 16-18 and I still fit in them all.

For my next lot of clothes I think I will buy maternity, but to me it seemed pointless at first, the jeans from Primark are like £10 each and the tshirts were all pretty cheap aswell.
My aim is to keep them all nice and after Jared is born go back into them until I am back in my 'normal' size clothes.

I didnt find they didn't fit well, the boyfriend ones are loose on my bum but thats the style of them! :) x

I haven't started wearing mat clothes just yet but have purchased a few things. In baggy style clothes (like my scrubs for work) I just wear larger sizes and it is fine for the most part. I can't tolerate jeans that are too big but the only place mine no longer fit is in the waist so I leave them undone and put a bellyband on which covers the open area and holds my pants up! It also let's me wear my regular tops as the band covers the pants and still fits high enough to cover the bump so no peeking out the bottom of my shirt, just looks like I have a cami on underneath.

I will likely buy a few mat tops for work, they'll be t-shirts rather than maternity scrubs but that's good for me as I will get more wear out of them. I may spring for a pair of jeans but no plans to do much in the way of maternity clothes as I would rather spend money on baby and I know me, as good as my intentions may be, I am NOT going to want to mess with trying to sell that stuff later!

I would say maternity.

For me I dont have the money to buy a size up only to buy maternity down the line.

I would agree with those saying that a size up will just be ill fitted and only be baggy where you dont need them to be. However, I suppose that could depend on how you are carrying and where your weight gain is, if any.

I've bought maternity skinny jeans from Asos, just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean all my clothes need to be shapeless.

I'm a size 8/10 on bottom & if I bought a size 10 pair of jeans or a 12 they'd just be baggy around the bum & thighs, it's my stomach that's growing not my legs!

The Asos jeans fit like a glove I love them.

I don't have big boobs so I need size 8 maternity tops as size 10 tops will be too big around the boobs.

I bought the most comfy maternity jeans in the world from New Look, as I'm most of the way to not being able to fit into any of my jeans. Bought a few maternity tops too (mostly because of the cute things on them!), and they look a hell of a lot better than some of the baggy stuff I bought for comparison. Bigger sizes don't fit properly on the bits of me that haven't gained weight, so the maternity stuff gets my vote!

I had bigger sizes last pregnancy, maternity this time and honestly i am so much more comfortable! Maternity clothes support you better and flatter your bump rather than hiding it.
