What is the deal with a Elective section after an emergency one?

I am assuming at this point i would go for an elective, rather than a vbac which could then end up as bad as the last experience, but how far before Due date do they do it? a week before? 2 weeks?

TIA:flower:

Hi I am due a week after you and i'll be having an elective section, i had an elective last time too and got my date 2 weeks before my date.

I've been booked in for 39 weeks so exactly a week before my due date.
I think that's the norm :)

Its 39 weeks unless they feel you nessary to deliver you early! For me they said its to be set for 39th week but they will move it as early as 37 if I get really uncomfortable to start dialating etc.

It's actually up to you, they won't do it before 39 weeks unless for some other medical reason but I had an emcs last time and I have an elective section booked for 40 weeks +12 days which is next wednesday for me. I wanted to give him a chance to come on his own and I would like a vbac but don't won't an induction if he's not going to come on his own. I know someone else who booked hers for 40 weeks.
