I will be having my 4th C-Section this pregnancy. While I'm sure one will be scheduled, since this is my last baby I'm feeling rather sad that none of my babies have ever had the chance to "choose their own birthday".

I am hoping that I go into labor before my scheduled c-section date so that I can feel at least one of my children were able to choose their own birthday, and so I have the experience of going into the hospital in labor and saying "I'm having contractions!" :happydance:

Is anyone else hoping for the same?

I'm not sure is this will be repeat c section or VBAC, why have you had 3 sections without labour (if you don't mind me asking) ... I've strangely always wanted to feel my water go, lol, how gross is that, haha ... But my first they broke them when I was about 6cms and the twins were section.

I had my first c-section - scheduled because I had bad gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia with really bad swelling & high blood pressure.

My 2nd one - they would of let me tried vaginally if I went before my due date... but alas, I went past my due date :(

My 3rd c-section, I didn't have a choice. They didn't allow vaginal births after two c-sections, like some places do now.

And now with my 4th, it's a combination of the fact I've had three c-sections and I have a really low lying placenta so I probably would need one anyways.

Nightmare! I assume once you in labour it's classed as an emergency section rather than a elective and the risks and recovery sounds worse, but then I don't really know. I can understand you wanting to experience labour. I think after three it's probably the safest option, but I guess it's lots of point to discuss with your doctor. Good luck x

I actually - I 'm not ashamed - I had my 3rd c section and I actually went into labor like i wanted - I had a scheduled c section, and the same happened with my twins. with my 3rd section, i walked all the time, and went swimming all the time. I was actually swimming when I felt the contractions starting, I edged it on with nipple stimulation. My Dr let me labor for a little that night at the hospital for about 4 hrs and then did my section. Trust me- I know what you feel.

I went into labour with my daughter, fully dialated etc all that jazz but my girl would not descend so I had to have an emergency section because she became distressed and I had pre eclampsia. If I go early with my twins ill try again but if I get to 37 weeks and nothing caesarean it is

Very cool ladies :)

My c-section has been scheduled for December 5th...only 17 more days! Still praying I go into labor between now & than :)

No baby has came yet by natural labor... so sad.

15 more days to go until I see her. Starting to get a little discouraged. Maybe it's a little premature, but I just can't shake it. Oh well.

I hope that she'll come on her own if that's what you're really wanting.

That is what I'm shooting for. I've already informed my OBGYN that I would rather the baby come on her own and she's completely fine with it and it will still be an elective C-section not unless she's in distress. I have a C-section scheduled for 40+6 just in case she doesn't come on her own.
