I went to hospital Saturday because I was having mild contractions, 5 minutes apart. I say mild, but they were like a period cramp coming in waves. I was sent home and told to come back when they are 2-3 minutes apart.
Sunday, I went back still having them 5 minutes apart. They were kind of rolling their eyes at me because I wasn't actually in active labor, but after 36 hours, I was tired from all the hurting! It turns out Cadence was in distress because of how long it had gone on, and they started the lowest dose of pitocen. I got my epidural and from there it was amazing! I was able to laugh with my family, sleep a bit, read. It was neat to see my huge contractions towards the end, when my tummy would get so hard and pointy, but I felt nothing. Had a good time EXCEPT when I passed gas in front of my in laws, I could not help it! That was not funny, I wanted to crawl in a hole!
Anyway, she was delivered at 1:12 Monday afternoon, about 7 hours after starting the pitocen and was delivered in less than 10 minutes of pushing. I only made a teeny, tiny poop during pushing and she did need to make a small episiotomy. I was always told not to induce because my labor would be so painful, and so long if I got an epidural, I think I had the perfect labor!
I could not have asked for a better labor! Cadence is a big girl, she weighs 9lbs, 2oz and 21 inches long with a full head of black hair! She is so pretty, a perfect, pink little baby
I am so in love with her, I never knew I could feel so much love!
