Hi girls,

I have a 26 day cycle (currently on day 9) and was just wondering if anyone else with the same cycle can give me some advice?

Like i say i'm day 9 of my cycle and have been using test sticks to try and find out when i'm ovulating. I've used them for the last couple of days and no luck so far.

Does anyone else use them with a similar cycle length? i jsut wondered as i'm not sure when roughly should i expect to ovulate in a 26 day cycle?

Any help gratefully receieved!

xx

Hi hoping 4 bump, I too have 26 day cycles (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter but generally 26 days) I have been using OPKs for 7 cycles and this is my 2nd cycle temping
6 out of 7 cycles I have gotten a +OPK on CD13 and the odd one was on DC15.

Is this your first month using OPKs? Everyone is different, but I should expect its a bit early for a +OPK.

Hope i've helped and good luck TTC

I also have a 26 day cycle usually and ovulate on day 13 mostly (once on day 12) Your luteal phase should be 12-16 days so the earliest you can ovulate is day 10 and the latest is day 14 as long as your luteal phase is normal.

hi girls,

thanks for your responses, they have both really helped.

its' my seccond month of trying to use ovulation test sticks but keep testing too early as i panic i'll miss OV if not!!!!

Thanks again - good luck to you both!

xx

Hi Ladies,

I'm on a 25-26 day cycle too! Your replies have been so helpful! I'm on CD 8 and started using OPK today (1st cycle of ttc for me for baby #1). It was negative (i expected that, but was still surprised in a strange way to see that I wasn't OVing). My cycles are really regular, and I've been figuring that i should OV on Monday (CD 11). But I see that it should probably happen on CD12 or CD13. Which is great since hubby and I did not BD yesterday or the day before. This just lets me know that all of next week is probably going to be important for me. I'm so excited. Hoping to catch the eggy and for it to stick.

Thanks so much for posing this question. We share a very similar cycle, I was wondering if you wanted to be cycle buddies (I'm not sure what else to call it). I'm on CD 8 of a 25/26 day cycle. This is my first month of ttc.

I have a 26 dayer as well, my O day is cd 14 with a 12 day lp. If you start your bd run cd10 and have sex every second day till cd18 you wont miss the egg, then its just up to mother nature!

Man, I was way off. Was planning to really start up tonight and then wind down Thursday (CD 14) or Friday (CD 15). And then do whatever for the rest of the month. However, based on these responses we will still start tonight, and BD everyday (or at least try to) until CD 14. After that we will BD everyother day until CD 18, then relax.... Man, typing this makes me tired. I gotta work this out! :happydance:

Well you dont have to if you know your O date!:haha: But on a 26 day cycle that just covers all your bases without having to worry, covers all the ladies who may have anywhere between a 10-16 day lp and O accordingly!

I know, but I'm so scared of missing it. It's my first time using OPKs and first month ttc so I'm worried that it may not detect my surge.

Hi Rai I wouldn't worry too much I think you are right at the point to start BDing which is the fun part.
Can I ask what type of OPK you are using, I use the digital ones that give the smiley face when it detects your surge as it takes all the guess work out (they are much pricer though :-()

Good luck to you and hope you have a very short stay in TTC :-)

hello!

I used to have 26 day cycles like clockwork, over the last year however, my cycles have changed a bit, still occasionally 26 days though. Anyway, on my 26 day cycles, I almost always O'd on CD16, but I have a 10 day LP, so I guess thats why.. :) Not sure if this helps, but good luck and :dust:

Was so planning on this, but DH and I had technical difficulties... We started BDing too early and well, DH was a little sore.... So unfortunately, we did not get in as much BDing as I wanted. But DH was a trouper. I blame it on me..I was so randy the days preceding OV, it was our first time ttc so I was excited...maybe too excited. :winkwink:

I got a positive OPK on CD 9, so I figured I OVed on CD10 (when I tested again on CD10 it was neg). We BDed on CD4/5 (it was late at night), CD10 and CD 11. That's it around thae OV time. :( But I'm hoping it was enough....Although, I fear that it was not.

I used Clearblue Easy OPK. It's a digital one with lines. No smiley face though....I'll have to look for the smiley face ones. Do you know the brand name?

Does anyone know if there is any relationship between the cycle length and date you can start testing for BFP on HPT? Since all the HPT are based on 28 day cycle length, I'm wondering if we should start using them earlier or later....Or does it not matter since its based on the dpo?

If your going to test early, leave it till at least 10dpo and even thats pretty early. Your bd was still good by the sounds of it rai, so fingers crossed for you hun!xxx:hugs:

Any update ladies?? I tested today @ 8dpo and it was negative..Was expecting it, but still it was disappointing to see. I have 3 FRER left.. Trying to decide if I should test tomorrow or just wait until Friday. I know what I should do.....

No matter what your cycle length is, the best time to test is after you missed your AF.

HPTs are actually based on any cycle length
