Calling all Fur-parents!

Lol, we were told he was german shepperd/poodle mix, but ppl always tell us that he looks like a border collie (sp?)

I can see the German Shepherd, but I don't think he looks anything like a poodle! His markings look border collie-esque.

This Buddy, we found him on a Facebook page going free so we went and visited the house and he looked like a completely different dog than the photo. His back legs, around his tummy & all on his bum were extremely matted. The woman said he was her exes and he left them & him behind. He had no proper name, no lead & they didn't bother saying bye. I was not leaving him there!! Since OH got rid of all his matts & recently we got him shaved because he was way too hot in the sun! We've had him for a while now and I love him we really want to know what cross he is but so many people have different opinions so feel free to comment! (MizzyD those DNA kits sound good, I'm gonna look into them!

This is Henry, OHs mum gave him to us when we MC'ed and since then he's been my baby - tbf it may sound weird but he really helped me through things. He sleeps on my pillow every night, cuddles me, pulls hilarious faces & his worst trait - sits on my knee whenever I go to the toilet (only me though!) I can't pee in peace ever!

Sorry if this is extremely long but I've never posted pics via photo bucket! This thread is great btw even though it was made last year it needs to keep going!

Buddy also looks like he could have some German Shepherd in him. Maybe a little Akita? But he looks an awful lot like a long-haired GS.

Pretty much everybody has said GS (we think so too) I thought Akita but OH thinks bullmastiff :/ we've also had GSxStaff GSxRidgeback GSxCollie -.-

Thank you for your opinion do you think the vet would be able to tell me? I know he could be a cross between multiple breeds but I just want a there-abouts.. Not sure why I want to know so much!

It's possible! DH's uncle is a professional dog trainer, and his wife is a vet, so I could Facebook them his photo and see what they think.

That'd be brilliant if you could! I think he looks so much different shaved than fluffy, just cannot make up my mind. Thankyou, it'd be interesting to see what they think

He mentioned a couple of possible breeds:

German Shepherd
Belgian Shepherd
Finnish Lapphund
Belgian Tervuren


But he says it's most likely some sort of Shepherd crossed with a hairy dog, possibly a Golden Retriever. He said he would suspect Chow, but it doesn't have a purple tongue, so it's really unlikely.

@amytrisha - such sweet babies! I love how your kitty helped you get through your MC, that's just so sweet. Aren't our fur-babies just the greatest?!

seriously, I really think dogs (or any pets of our choice) are therapeutic. My dogs have helped me so much with my depression and they truly make me happy.

@Mrs. JJ - It's amazing how they help! Thank you I want more fur babies but OH refuses because the two we've got literally fight like cat and dog

lol I want more furbabies too! I would loooooove to have a big house and huge yard and just go adoption crazy but OH says no lol I'm trying to wear him down right now for a 4th cat...I want a little boy.

I want more doggies too, my yard is not huge, but is big enough for like 10 more. I always say that if I had more money I would totally get more doggies.

Took my oldest to the vet today, I was worried about some black nose crusties. But doc says they are common and she seems to be in perfect health She is 10....it's gonna be haaaaaaaaard when I have to say good bye to her. I've had her since she was 6wks and EVERYONE absolutely adores her. She is definitely a daddy's girl too

She's so beautiful! How fluffy! I love fluffy cats, my auntie has 3 cats identical to that and when they sit together its so weird - you can't workout how many there are because you think your seeing the same cat multiple times!
