What car do you drive? :flower:
I currently drive an old shape polo with literally the worlds smallest boot and just manage to fit my single silvercross buggy in it. There's no way in this world I'll get a double in that boot.
My OH drives a Shogun but I'm not insured on it so can't drive it when out with the kids myself.
So basically I need to know which family type cars have a good sized boot for a double? It'll more than likely be a tandem rather than a side by side that we get.
We don't wanna go too big so not a people carrier or anything just a nice mid sized car.
Thanks :D
xx

Ive got a simple ford fusion, (boot is the same sort of size as a VW Golf) we have a double out and about 360 and fits in boot fine :D

I have three under 26 months, it was three under 2 when the twins were born.

I have a Renalt Grand scenic, its a 7 seater but the seats in the back fold flat into the floor so you get a decent sized boot. works for us.

i used to be able to fit a double in my mums old fiesta !

We have a Volvo xc60 and we can fit a bugaboo donkey in the boot :)

We have a Saab 93 estate and a Jane Powertwin. Look for doubles that you can take the wheels off(like the Powertwin) if space is an issue.

Hey,

I currently drive a Peugeot 206 but the boot only just fits my iCandy peach blossom as a double. I can also drive my husbands BMW 3 series which fits it in the boot nicely.

But we used tohave a vauxhall zafira which had fantastic boot space so im going to be getting rid of my Peugeot and getting myself another zafira. That way whichever car we drive will easily fit the pram and any shopping etc.

X

Have you thought about babywearing LO in a sling/wrap then no need for the double?

We dont have a double, but are doing just fine.

I wouldnt just buy a new car simply because a double buggy doesnt fit......my friend bought a double buggy and it was used once as the toddler hated it - imagine if she had got a new car to fit that buggy!!! She gave that double buggy to me and I have not used it once!!

:flower:

OH has a Nissan Primera, it's awesome. The boot is MASSIVE and it wasn't that expensive at all either (we were on a budget, only just brought the car as the old one was tiny and could only just fit a single pushchair in). Now we can fit our double pushchair in with still LOADS of room for other stuff!!! xx

I've got a ford c max n the boots good as its the full height of the car I've got a baby jogger city sidewalk which fits in easy with plenty of shopping! Today I had 2 prams in and shopping with room left! x

I have a peugeot 406 its a 7 seat estate, so the seta rearface in the boot and fold down flat. Means the boot is enormous, I love it. But before I had a vauxhall astra estate which is a little smaller but still a lovely boot, plenty of room for my nipper 360 and lots of shopping. Had a peugeot 206 before that and that only just fit my mura singke buggy. OH has a BMW 3 series and it wont fit any of our buggys, but we always use mine anyway due to carseats xx

Aww thanks for all the replies!
Such useful info. We've been looking at second hand Renault Scenics.
My car is really small inside too, not just the boot and it really will be tight trying to get two babies in. It's a real struggle already getting my DD into her car seat just as the cars so titchy!
Thanks again it's great to know we don't have to get a MASSIVE car to fit in a good sized buggy and all the baby paraphenalia xx

I have a Ford mondeo and I love it! loads of room;) can get a double tandem buggy in and groceries and 2 car seats and a husband in all at the same time LOL

i will have 2 under 2 and a 6 year old come august i dont drive cant afford insurance after accident but my OH is buying a ford galaxy so we can be comfy dont want to cramp 3 kids up on the back seat of our mondeo
