Anyone know if calpol can cause dihorrea? Jessica has been poorly all weekend and i rung the nhs on sat night and they said it sounded like the cold so to keep up with calpol:dohh: she has a slightly runny nose, really bad temp if i am late with the calpol, really teary and wingy all w/e and as of today bad dihorrea so i dont know if its whatever is wrong with her or the calpol causes the runs? she also keeps grapping at one of her ears, tbh im not convinced its the cold as her nose isnt running that bad but just want to check before i ring nhs tonight. Kx

I'd give them a call, especially if she has bad diarrhea. It sounds like maybe she has an ear infection or something. Hannah does get a slightly 'looser' bum when she has medicine, but not what I'd class as diarrhea. Is it bad, as in like water?

yeah she has had it 4 times today, first time not so bad but got progressively worse and now like water, shes hardly eating today either, she has just gone to bed so will c how she goes but doubt it will last long then i will phone nhs, thanks Kx

I think it can. Nurofen gives Ruby very loose yucky nappies so I guess calpol could too. I think I am going to go to the Drs and get a plain paracetamol suspension as I am getting pregressively unhappier about giving childrens medicines that are full of E numbers, sweeteners etc that could be causing the problem...

I'd call the doctors or NHS direct if your worried hun! I havent ever experienced loose nappies after I have given them calpol but it could be, who knows.
Hope she gets better soon!

Well Mum2b_Claire its funny you should say that because yesterday i went to the chemist to pick up more calpol and i had forgotton ages ago Jessica had been signed up for minor ailments so instead of calpol its paracetamol suspension u get given so she had that last night and slept great and has pooed this orning and its fine, granted she seems alot chirpier this morning but i agree, think i will b sticking with paracetamol in future just incase Kx

Totally agree, when I give my LO Calpol I know I am up for a sleepless night, sends him loopy, I didnt quite make the connection until recently, saying that as a child myself would love a spoon of the lovely sugery pink stuff!!

Hey!! Normally I give Brandon the paracetemol suspension...think its called 'Medinol', but I have ran out and Brandon is loaded with the cold so have been giving him Calpol and twice today he has had very loose nappies...so u mite be onto something here :) xx
