I'm having a dinner party and most of the guests are fishy people !! I loathe fish, never cooked it but fancied trying the moules marinareres but I don't want to kill anyone especially being the week before Christmas!!!
The recipes don't look that hard but I'm too scared to do them!

Can anyone recommend a nice fish starter , preferably that I can prepare before hand or that's very quick?

Please bear in mind I couldn't bare to taste it to check if its ok...:sick:

You could buy already cooked king prawns and have them with smoked salmon and salad? Easy to do and no cooking required :)

just boil them in the sauce. Be careful though to throw any that are open before you start cooking them and to throw any that don't open after you've cooked them x

Or Aldi does a vaccum pack of mussels in white wine/garlic sauce. Chuck them in a pot of water and cook them in the bag - delicious with crusty bread. I'm sure all the supermarkets must do them :)

Was gonna second the vacuum packed mussels. Tesco does some too. Even easier than boiling them, they just pop straight into the microwave. There are two types that Tesco does - the first is in a garlic sauce, and the second is in a white wine sauce.
