For my 6 week old son, he doesnt really like being put down but the only place we have found he will sit quite happily (and sometimes nod off in) is his car seat. I think he likes feeling snug and he likes to look up at the toys dangling from the handle.

So on this basis can anyone recomend a good one?x

This one! Fisher Price. Wouldn't say it's that snug, but with a blanket under him it would be.

I have this one and my son much prefers it to the normal swinging one we also have, i think its the vibration he like as much as the positioning.

I have the same one as faffalina, its great, pricey but great!! I agree you would need to put a blanket under a tiny baby as my daughter is 7.5 months but we had a bright starts one from asda baby event first only cost £15 pound but its was the worst thing ever. bright starts do do another one which looks snuggly too its called comfort and harmony rocker, on mothercare! xxx

We have the bright starts comfort an harmony swing and my DD loves hers, she'll sit happily, play and nap in hers

We have the fisher price rainforest swing which I got second hand from eBay and also the Fisher Price Link a Doos. The Link a doos is a great daytime swing, it vibrates and my son rocks it himself by kicking his legs, the toy bar is good too as they can reach the toys plus they are removable so you can add your own if you want. The rainforest swing is nice for napping but my son is less keen on it wjen awake because it is quite reclined as they get older and they also can't reach the toys.

This is a great bouncy seat:

its very interactive ( when baby pushes the whale the snow globe starts blowing snow and the lights and music come on. My LO loves it but it is very stimulating and he never sleeps in it unless I take off the toy bar!

We also have this swing:

which we used every day until a few days ago he is now sitting upright and is trying to tip himself out of it! It has been great though he always slept really well in it and enjoyed playing with the hanging toys.:thumbup:

We have a fisher price vibrating bouncer - it's blue and has a blanket on it. We also have a bright starts swing, I forget the name but it's light blue and has circles on it. He loves the swing!

I found it too late for my daughter and mothercare were out of stock and i couldnt justify £50 for a few weeks, so wish i had of found it earlier tho as it looks really sturdy and snuggly!!! xxx
